Joshua Alan Interiors has truly transformed our house into a warm and inviting home! After purchasing a fixer-upper in 2022, we were eager to jump into renovations. That's when we discovered Joshua Alan Interiors on Houzz, and we were so impressed with his portfolio. Joshua and his team renovated our kitchen, three bathrooms, and the common areas, leaving us absolutely amazed with the outcome. The once dark and unwelcoming atmosphere has been replaced with an airy and cozy feel that we wanted. We can't praise Joshua enough for his seamless process and excellent communication throughout the entire project. We will be recommending Joshua to all our friends, as his talent and helpfulness have made our renovation experience truly remarkable!

My family was doing a fairly substantial renovation of a 100-year old tutor on a fixed budget. Josh came recommended to us by a contractor we were speaking to, and I feel so lucky that we made that connection! We had experience with smaller renovation projects but really didn’t know how to manage all the moving parts of a larger project. Josh was a life-saver: able to help us plan, stay in contact with our contractor, and keep the project moving along— all during the challenges of COVID shut downs and supply chain problems. Perhaps most importantly, he understood our budget and was able to help us make wise decisions about where our money was best spent to add long-term value and comfort to our home. He was a pleasure to work with, was extremely knowledgeable, had an extensive network of subcontractors/suppliers, and was honestly able to do anything. To list just a few examples demonstrating his range: he designed/reconfigured an amazing kitchen from scratch, dealt with problems and challenges that came up as a result of the quirks of an old house, reconfigured our master bed/bath, mapped lighting designs, found us a structural engineer to help us open up a wall, and helped us find modern windows that fit the historic style of the house. Renovation is a pain! But we are so grateful for Josh’s help throughout the process, and we are very pleased with the outcome. We highly recommend Joshua Alan Interiors!!

We’ve worked with Josh over the past two years to completely remodel our home- what started out as a smaller project grew significantly in scope because of how impressed we were with Josh’s work and ideas. Josh’s creativity, sharp eye for design, flexibility and ability to take our very unformed initial ideas to make them a beautiful reality are just a few of his greatest strengths. Our project was highly complex, including a complete kitchen refresh and re-arrangement of the layout, ceiling lighting plan, upgraded/restyled bathrooms, and creating a new office & entertaining space from previously “blank” rooms. Being in a city condo, Josh was able to creatively maximize functionality for our space without sacrificing on any design aspects - a complicated and high attention to detail ask. Lastly, Josh’s ability to navigate my husband and my opposing design styles and desired price points: he’s been instrumental in helping us weave a cohesive and beautiful design that both of us love for our home. Josh is undeniably talented, and we’ve enjoyed our time working with him immensely. We extensively leveraged Josh’s network of vendors, contractors, and connections in the industry and were consistently impressed with their quality of work, products and finishes. In addition to his design services & networking, Josh also stepped in to help project manage and coordinate across construction and vendors during the challenges of the pandemic. No detail went unnoticed, and Josh was often our proactive eyes and ears for all the work on the ground & delivery/tracking of both products and services. For the past year and a half, my husband and I have been working with Joshua Alan Interiors, while he helped us with the entire interior design of the house we have recently built. He has been the perfect fit for us. Joshua has seamlessly balanced, (it almost feels like magic!) both our styles - my desire for color and pattern and my husband's preference for clean lines and a contemporary neutral look, into the whole design concept of our new house. Not only has he blended both our styles, he has also carefully chosen every piece to be kid friendly for my two highly active and “not so careful about their surroundings”, preteen boys. We came to him with a defined budget and he was thoughtful when helping us choose "the big money pieces", that would have the biggest impact and similarly, while always respectful of our budget, he was able to give us great alternatives when we chose pieces that may be out of our budget or otherwise ate up too much of it. We also loved that he has a great way of gently pushing us both out of our comfort zones and helping us choose pieces that we absolutely love. Joshua is highly organized and came prepared to each meeting with narrowed down fabric and wallpaper swatches, furniture, lighting and decor ideas. He always makes you feel like you are a priority and his only client. His attention to detail is razor sharp. Also of note, all the vendors he uses were amazing, so friendly and polite. We never had a problem with any installation or delivery. Joshua managed all the details and negotiations, so if there was ever a problem, I don’t know anything about it. Joshua and I have spent countless hours texting, emailing and sharing design ideas throughout the past year. He listens intently and knows just what we are looking for. We get countless compliments when we have friends and family over. He has made our new house into a treasured home!

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Joshua on our kitchen, mud room, and powder room remodel. Joshua did a great job of understanding our style & taste, bringing appropriate ideas to the table, and knowing the right times to push us when that was needed. We couldn’t have been happier working with Joshua on our renovations! He is extremely professional and organized, as well as highly communicative which made working with him so enjoyable. Joshua was a dream to work with you - throughout the entire design and execution of the remodel of my kitchen, 1/2 bath and living area. He was able to build a budget with me and be flexible when I wanted to make changes. His ability to mange the project, manage my changes and discuss the impact of my changes, as these were not things I could foresee as being an issue in the overall design. I initially hired Joshua Alan Interiors as a consultant on my new place in the Back Bay on Newbury street. I was so impressed with Josh's ideas, professionalism, and experience that I ended up taking him on to manage the entire townhouse project. It was such a stress free experience working with Joshua Alan interiors as he ran the entire process and used his connections with the top contractors in Boston to prioritize my project. I plan to eventually purchase a home in the North Shore and plan to use him again one day.

Joshua and his team were excellent! My fiancé and I bought a new house, and Joshua Alan interiors was so helpful, with renovations. We designed a new kitchen, two bathrooms, living room, dining room, master bedroom and game room. Joshua designs ideas were perfect. From moving walls, to selecting cabinetry, countertops and tile. As well as final touches of furnishing, wallpaper, paint and curtains. We were very happy with the final results.

Joshua Alan has excellent vision. He did the interior design for a 1200 sq ft. South End condo I bought in 2009. Each room has a distinct personality while working together cohesively. Joshua listened to my style preferences and positively surprised me with suggestions I would never have conceived, but came together to suit my personality perfectly. He has a solid grounding not only in style, but also in functionality. He took the time to understand my routines and activities so the design would suit my needs. I've fully enjoyed my space on a day to day basis and visitors are always impressed! Josh was great to work with! We had been in our home for 4 years and were ready for a refresh / were looking for a way to make our 1 bedroom condo feel more open. After searching around for different designers and contractors, we were given Josh's contact information from a friend. We met and hit it off instantly - we told him what we wanted to do and he immediately had some great suggestions for room layout and finishes. Josh was there throughout the process, making sure we were OK with the work being done and the design choices discussed. I had never been through a renovation and was expecting the worst, but Josh made it as stress-free as possible. For furniture, Josh was able to balance our different design aesthetics and select pieces that we both loved - I would absolutely hire Josh again for our next project!
