Jo Taylor is a well-respected and accomplished interior designer with hundreds of successful residential and commercial projects gracing an impressive portfolio. For over 35 years, the business has created beautiful spaces, both interior and exterior, for a long list of residential and commercial clients not only throughout Sydney but all over Australia. With a Diploma of Interior Design, Jo began her career working in some of Sydney’s top architectural firms. Combining her architectural background with a love and appreciation for joinery design and soft furnishings. She established Jo Taylor Design in 1983.

We have collaborated on many projects with Jo from Jo Taylor Designs over the years. Jo’s vision for a project is second to none, she is innovative and insightful, taking into consideration the vision of her clients and exceeding everyone’s expectations to produce beautiful and timeless designs. Jo takes a personal, hands on approach, ensuring we all adhere to the vision, the result is perfection, anything less wouldn’t be acceptable to Jo. I feel the difference with Jo’s designs is the liveability, it’s not enough to design a concept, we have to live in our homes without feeling it is untouchable and she achieves this. Lower Northshore Paint and Maintenance

My Company Lower North Shore Paint & Maintenance have been working with Jo over the last 2 years on her interior and exterior projects for her clients. The scope of work is always detailed and designs exquisite which makes our job to finish off the detail painting. Always a pleasure to work with Jo.

I have been working with Jo for 6 or so years as her electrician. She is great at communicating her ideas and this helps so much with the final outcome. Her plans are always very detailed and well thought out, super user friendly from a tradies or client perspective. Jo is professional, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly to deal with. I have no hesitation recommending her.

Jo was able to envisage my abstract ideas into exactly what we wanted, including an elegant master suite that rivals the most exclusive resorts. Jo understood what our busy family of five needed, and what we didn't. She truly LISTENED to our wants and designed it for US. All the rooms have an easy, natural elegance; sophisticated in style but completely liveable. And her funny sense of humour kept me going through the long remodel process. We engaged Jo to Project Manage the significant renovations of our apartment in Sydney. Jo provided excellent "hands-on" service with a high attention to detail and quality of work and finishes. She established a good level of communication with us and provided great advice on finishes and furnishings. She efficiently managed and interfaced the various sub-contractors and suppliers involved. We are extremely pleased with the end result.

We are thrilled with the redesign of our new kitchen, courtyard and living room, the results have exceeded our expectations. From inception to project completion, Jo Taylor Design were instrumental in helping us achieve the maximum amount of space, with minimal area. Jo took all the guess work out and provided us with innovative design concepts that were aligned specifically to the brief. Her professionalism, and attention to detail, as well as her warmth and generous approach is what truly sets her apart from the rest.

We reached out to Jo for the recreation of our two bathrooms, one with a feature bath. As a main ‘hub’ to the home, Jo Taylor designed a luxurious environment that fosters comfort, serenity and high-end quality; to that end, the bathroom boasts dark graphite floor tiles and a cement look wall to offset the brightness of the white bath. To add softness, subtlety and indulgence, mother of pearl mosaics were added as a splash back with trough style tap-ware chosen specifically to emulate/imitate a beachy feel of free flowing water. Jo was communicative in presenting her concepts and truly understood our requirements to create a solution that supported our routine and enhanced our lifestyle. She worked alongside us every step of the way, going beyond expectations with the utmost attention to detail throughout the design development.

Started with a redesign of a living area and expanded to include a number of other rooms in the house. Jo helped us with furniture layout & cabinetry, selection of furniture, rugs, fabrics, accessories and paint colours. Jo also coordinated a number of tradesmen and suppliers for us. She was very easy to work with, extremely professional with a great eye for detail and did an amazing job of streamlining the process. She managed to tune in very quickly to our tastes and provided us with a fantastic range of options without having to trawl around the shops. We would not hesitate to use her services again.

The first project Jo Taylor did for us was a complete re-modelling of our kitchen. We were so impressed with her work that over the next few years we asked her to remodel both our bathrooms, two bedrooms and arrange the exterior painting of our house. You can find photos of our kitchen and bathroom on her website. Jo was always a pleasure to work with. While she always listened to my ideas, she was also quick to point out any potential pitfalls with what I had envisaged, which I appreciated. She has great contacts in the trades and on a couple of occasions was able to find us someone in an emergency. I would certainly recommend her.

Jo Taylor is the consummate professional. She has a great design aesthetic, the ability to guide the client who is somewhat unsure and an exceptionally well coordinated team of trades. The kitchen renovation she completed at our house in Paddington surpassed all our expectations and has been complimented by many friends, including interior designers. It was completed well within the suggested timeframe and budget. We would have hesitation in recommending Jo's talents to other prospective clients.
