Lyman Kitchens

They completely redid our kitchen 2.5 years ago, changed the layout, the flooring and everything up from there. Increased functionality, soooo much better aesthetically, and (after opening up the wall to the living room) so much more accessible to the rest of the house. They were attentive to our concerns, loyal to our design tastes, and very accurate with costs and expected time to completion. In the end, they gave us a room that our new family used as the heart of our home.

I cannot make it pass step 1. In December, Lyman came to my house, took several measurements and pictures and based on the process in step 1, "We will email you that budget within 3-5 business days from our meeting", well that did not happen. I followed-up with email and voice mail on 1/7/2014 and did not get a reply. I called on 1/8/2014 and was told I would get the budget by the end of the week. As of today 1/14/2014, nothing received. I have heard good things about Lyman kitchen in the past, but it looks like I need to go elsewhere. If they wanted my business, I should not have to follow-up on the step 1 process.

The cabinets were beautiful and the people were great to work with. They did some custom stuff that was awesome. The problem is that the cabinet finish wore off quickly- within a couple of years. I called Lyman's to see if there was anything that could be done. They referred me to the cabinet maker. The cabinet maker suggested paying someone else to fix them. Everyone passed the buck. I got a quote from another cabinet maker to fix them, but he said that it would be cheaper to replace the doors. Now 10 years later they look really sad. Most of my friends have cabinets older than mine with kids of similar ages (In case it might have something to do with wear and tear) and their cabinets which were installed by other makers look much, much better. Also, the 'upgraded' hinges that they sold us fall off all the time!!!!!

Lyman remodeled our master bath last November. We were so delighted with the outcome that we hired them to do the kitchen this year. The change these projects have made in our home is astonishing. Both projects gave us vastly improved use of space, much more storage and much better organization than we had previously. We now have two really beautiful and unique rooms that enhance the pleasure of living in the house! Jen is the designer and project manager for the company. She is creative, knowledgeable, organized, and fun to work with. She met often with us to work out design ideas for both projects and was very careful to get all of the details finalized before the contracts were written up. The budget was set before the work began and changes were managed with change orders. The project schedule was set before we began, so we always knew who would be coming each day. The inevitable changes were communicated in advance. Both projects completed within days of their original completion date. Since these were both complete remodels, that's an impressive result. Craig is the business owner and technical manager of the work. He is highly skilled in all of the trades involved, especially carpentry and stone. While most of the work is done by subcontractors, Craig handles some of it himself when needed. He is great to work with, and always has good solutions for the surprises that come with every project. Lyman works with an excellent team of subcontractors. The same team worked on both of our projects. They all did a super job and left the site clean at the end of the day - important when you're living in the middle of the project! We highly recommend this company for any similar projects you may be considering. Design, materials, workmanship, project and budget management, and communication - they get it all right! And they are great to work with!

We built our house in 2007 and we hired Lyman Kitchens for our kitchen, vanities in all our bathrooms, Pullman kitchen in our master bedroom, our office built-ins and granite for one of our fireplace surrounds.

Craig Hebert and his subcontractors did a great job - we had the quartz countertop, Carrera Marble backsplash, and cabinetry extras done with him. I highly recommend him. Also, he is very reasonable.

Lyman Kitchens did a wonderful job remodeling my kitchen. We have a traditional colonial style home. We decided to tear down the wall between the kitchen and dining room and make the kitchen area larger. Not only did Lyman take down the wall, they helped redesign the kitchen setup and did so within our budget! The island they built is gorgeous and they did a wonderful job incorporating our existing cabinets (light oak in color) with new beautiful dark cabinets. We receive compliments regularly on the remodel and we enjoy it every day. I would describe the new look as traditional yet sophisticated. We were very impressed with their workmanship and their punctuality. I have been recommending Lyman to everyone I know!

We hired Lyman to re-do our kitchen counters, as well as the vanity tops in our two bathrooms. In addition, they re-tiled one of the bathroom floors. We are very pleased with the final outcome. Working with them was a pleasant experience. The estimates were accurate and didn't include any surprises. The sub-contractors that they used were very professional and did a great job. Lyman kept to the schedule that was set ahead of time which kept disruptions to our personal schedule to a minimum. The few minor concerns that we had they were quick to rectify. We would use them again in the future and would recommend them to others.

We hired Lyman Kitchens to do a full remodel of our kitchen last fall. We interviewed several firms prior to hiring Lyman, and they impressed us the most with their ability to listen to our plan, but also suggest ideas that would enhance our vision. They were very willing to work within our budget, were quick to respond to our questions, and guided us through the entire process. The end result is a stunning, incredibly functional kitchen that was completed on time. A few minor follow-up issues were addressed immediately. Both Craig and Jen are very professional (and actually fun) to work with, and the cabinet installer was top of the line. We couldn't be more pleased!
