Nandina Home & Design is a boutique interior design studio that balances beautiful design and functional reality with locations in Aiken, Atlanta, and Greenville. Established in 2006 in Aiken, South Carolina, owners Jim and Susan Victor and Sue Shannon launched the home design store with a belief that beautiful design and real life can coexist under one roof. Their “real life, real style” motto simplifies the philosophy that kids, dogs, parties and real life do happen and no one has to sacrifice real style because of them. We strive to create beautiful and functional spaces that will welcome you, nourish you, inspire you, express who you are, and reflect what you believe for years to come. A local staple since 2006, our Aiken, SC interior design showroom is an anchor for the community, located in the heart of Aiken’s vibrant and historic downtown on the corner of Laurens Street and Park Avenue. Susan Victor and her team at Nandina Home and Design helped transform my very dated interior to a beautifully updated more modern look. Susan took the time to understand my tastes and her knowledge and expertise lived up to my expectations. Their sources for products are endless and knowledge of products they provide is extremely helpful in achieving the look you want. Everyone at Nandina Home and Design was so wonderful to work with and helpful in every way. Her Design Assistant, BethAnn, was simply the best! Without them, I would not have achieved the incredible result that we achieved working together.

All tasks were completed as scheduled, or ahead of schedule. Their professionalism and performance are exceptional and we will use them again. Gary Stanley

I have completed two fairly large and complex projects with Nandina. The first was a major high end kitchen renovation of an eighty year old church rectory. The second was new construction of a 2000+ parish hall with a very upscale interior finish. The interior design of both projects was amazingly beautiful and all of the stakeholders were extremely complimentary of the finished projects. Working with Sue and Susan and their design team was both productive and pleasurable. Communication was excellent and timely and their response to multiple changes in scope and schedule was always met with a quick response and innovative solutions. If you are looking for a design team with talent and vision the Nandina Home and Design Team should be your destination.

Susan Victor and her team are amazing! Susan approaches her design projects with a sensibility of a good therapist- she listens not only to what you say you want, but also senses what you and your space might be needing that you are not yet aware off. Each phase of the project is thoroughly discussed, complete with pictures of furniture, fabric swatches, and room layout sketches. Susan is knowledgeable, creative, and easy to work with. Rest assured that if you dislike something in her proposal she never takes offense, but rather flexibly adjusts her ideas to fall in line with your vision. Highly recommend Susan and her team for your design needs!

I really enjoyed working with Michelle and Nicole at Nandina’s. They were both very professional and knowledable. Michelle was not scared to tell me that she didn’t love some of my ideas which I appreciated. She would always explain why and point me in the right directions. Although I only asked them to help me finish 2 rooms in my house, Michelle went ahead and made a few recommendations for other rooms that would compliment the work they were doing. They are excellent at coordinating fabrics and colors. Everything was done in a timely manner.

After building a home in Aiken, we decided to work with an interior designer to help us select lighting, furniture and window treatments. I don’t have enough great things to say about Michele. We built a beautiful house in Aiken and Michele was instrumental in turning our dream into reality. I came to rely on her judgement for just about everything. From picking color palettes for each room of the house (she has an incredible talent for this) to furnishing each room, to actually designing our fireplace mantel, she was terrific (so was her assistant Nicole and actually the whole team at Nandina). I come from NY and was skeptical about doing all the design work in Aiken, but Nandina far exceeded all of my expectations. I came to think of Michele and the whole team there as family – and still do! I can’t recommend Michele or Nandina highly enough.

Outstanding Firm. Michelle Merritt was our Consultant, along with her Assistant Nicole. They had very creative ideas, particularly on the use of color and design choices. Would definitely recommend this firm and would again call on them for future decorating projects. Service was outstanding.

Nandina home and design has helped me with furnishings in my home. Aimme Rusch has done a fabulous job working with me to choose the perfect items to update many rooms in my house as well as find furnishings that will also fit in with existing pieces. Not only have we worked inside, but also outside to make the outdoor patio and pool area cozier and relaxing with a modern flair. The best experience is the level of professionalism Aimme and others on her team have brought to the project. Deadlines were met and others that came to help hang art and deliver were knowledgable and friendly. I will look forward to working with them in the future! Stunning work!!

We utilized 6 "designers" (OH THE HORROR!) prior to discovering Susan Victor and Aimee Rusch. We have the good fortune to have 3 properties and have given Nandina complete decorating control. For the first time since beginning the arduous task of decorating and construction, we finally found people we trust implicitly. From the onset of each of our three projects, they have been communicative, reliable and creative. Their eye for color, structure and scale is unsurpassed. They have been willing to accomodate our specific tastes and preferences while guiding us toward a vision we were unlikely to ever have the capacity to imagine.
