I would gladly recommend Jim and his crew to anyone who asks. In fact, I already have, to a very good friend! We were looking for someone with creative solutions to our tight space and experience working in an old (1897) home. It took us a long time to make decisions about how best to use our limited space, choosing materials, some major life interruptions, etc. Jim was incredibly patient with our questions and very generous with his time. This was no small project - our old bathroom needed an exhaust fan installed, bathtub removed and replaced with a shower stall, swing door removed and replaced with a pocket door, new window and casing, transom preserved, a custom vanity built, and a boatload of tile installed! The crew was fantastic - easygoing and kind to our kitties. We almost kind of enjoyed having Mike and Olivia and Shane around! They paid attention to every little detail. It's probably the biggest project we'll ever undertake and we couldn't be happier with the final product.

We had a huge first floor remodel with kitchen and bath upgrades. Jim was the only contractor that’s would tackle it. Jim was easy to work with. His workers were courteous and polite. There was someone here almost every day. Any problems were addressed quickly. I think they were done in about 7 weeks, WAY faster than I expected. We’ve gotten nothing but complements and plan to use them again for upstairs bath updates/remodel. Worth the wait.

From beginning to end, we had nothing but the best experience with Remodeling & Painting Experts for our 2 bathroom remodels. They were professional, fair, and the quality of their work was excellent. There were a few hiccups with the subcontractors, but Jim's support through everything was great! Update: After COVID, we had Jim come back and upgrade our remaining guest bathroom. He lost some of his workers, and sadly the quality we received the second time was less than ideal. We found mistakes in the tile work and insisted on a rework which they did, but after the job was complete, we discovered more tiling mistakes, chipped tile next to the tub spout, and many dings and scrapes to our expensive Kohler soaking tub. Each time I clean the bathroom, I seem to find more imperfections in the job. They also did a tiling workaround that was not what I originally requested, and I think it was to make the niche tiling easier to accommodate the less experienced worker. Jim is very creative in finding solutions for problems with older houses, which I appreciate, but not to the extent of the job being done with lower quality. This second time around, Jim was also very difficult to communicate with regarding job start timing and follow-up. Many many texts and emails and calls were left unanswered. It was frustrating. We had approved a bid to remodel a sunroom at the same time as the bathroom, and he never came back or contacted us after the bathroom. Luckily we found another person to complete that job. I realize contractors are having a hard time keeping quality workers these days, but as a customer, I still expect high standards and good communication.

Jim and his team did a complete kitchen remodel for us and we could not have been happier with the experience from start to finish. They were honest and fair in pricing, upfront if anything would cost extra and helped us save where possible. We felt comfortable leaving the home open to them all day while we were dog (and even leaving our pup at home). All in all, I couldn't recommend Jim enough for any home remodel/construction projects!!

My recent kitchen remodel with Remodeling and Painting Experts Inc. exceeded my expectations. And that’s saying a great deal because I’m a perfectionist. The owner, Jim, really knows his stuff and kept me informed every step of the way. My house is old, so we ran into surprises behind the walls and Jim worked very hard to keep costs down while making sure my home was safe. Jim was always in touch by phone or on-site to make sure everything was going according to plan. Jim’s knowledge of color, materials, and design helped me make decisions along the way that resulted in a beautiful & extremely functional new kitchen that I love every day! Jim has a great team of people. Thank you, Dan, Shane, Butch, Olivia, and Tracy. These folks showed up every day to work hard & left my home tidy every night. I saw Dan the most and his work is flawless. My new cabinets & hardware & appliances line up seamlessly and function perfectly. Dan gave attention to the tiniest detail. We knocked out walls and relocated stuff and Dan brought everything together like it was always meant to be. Shane is a true artist with paint & stain. Butch & Shane are magic at restoring walls and ceilings to perfection. Tracy (Office Manager) was always there for me to keep the team updated about details that would affect the day’s work. My home was built in 1997 and my kitchen was in desperate need of a make over!! When I met with Susan Deffaa from Creative Kitchens and Jim Hubbard from Remodeling Experts, I knew this company would be a good fit for me. Susan and Jim were knowledgeable, patient, honorable, and easy to work with. At our first meeting, Jim spent 2 1/2 hours discussing ideas for me to consider. During this time, I never felt pressure to implement any of his recommendations. Instead, I found Jim insightful, someone who could see things I couldn't, and someone who clearly knew what he was doing. Jim and Susan always made me feel like I was an important part of the design team. Jim and Susan were well organized, and coordinated everything to make sure the project moved along smoothly and without interruption. Every member of the crew was skilled at what they did from installing dry wall to painting. They were friendly, respectful, and extremely professional. If the crew was running late, I would receive a call to let me know they would arrive later than normal.They did a great job of cleaning up at the end of the day and made sure I could park my car in the garage when storms were approaching. Mike was the carpenter assigned to my project. He installed the cabinets, made all the cuts for the crown molding, customized the light rail, and created a unique design for my spice rack. I have to say, he is an amazing craftsman and his skills are second to none!! Susan, Jim, and their crew completely transformed my kitchen, made it look elegant, and gave it a touch of class. It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank you Susan, Jim, Mike, Butch, Shane, and Olivia. I could not be happier!! I've heard that remodeling a kitchen can be a horrifying experience but that wasn't the case with my kitchen project. The whole experience from beginning to end was absolutely wonderful and I will miss the design team and the crew now that my project is complete. We have used Remodeling and Painting Experts on two different projects. They re-did our bathroom and fixed ceiling and wall cracks. Jim Hubbard and his crew are reliable, friendly, creative and good at what they do. The ceiling crack was an emergency and they jumped right on it. I have recommended them to friends and would not hesitate to use them again.

We remodeled our master bath. Remodeling and Painting Experts visited us 3 times at home to present ideas, based on the way we live. The owner anticipated things we had never even thought about and recommended websites for us to look at. His workers were pleasant. The owner supervised their work and in one instance where it didn’t meet his standards, he redid it without any extra cost to us. We like the result.

Jim and Susan were excellent to work with and gave great input, advice and expertise to my bathroom remodel. I never felt pressured to make any decisions and felt their recommendations were in my best interests. The only small area of improvement I have would be the project took over 6 weeks to start once we had agreed to go forward. Mike, Rudy, Butch and the rest of the work crew all were excellent to work with. They not only did excellent and detailed work but their communication with me on the progress of the project was prompt and constant. Once they got started they didn’t stop until project was completed. I would definitely recommend Remodeling Experts and Creative Kitchens and would definitely work with them again.

We had a fantastic experience with Jim Hubbard of Remodeling and Painting Experts as well as Susan Deffaa of Creative Kitchens and Baths. They did a complete remodel of our master bath as well as some minor remodeling of our laundry room and half bath. We LOVE all the work they did. Susan and Jim as well as Mike Cavanaugh had some great ideas and did some extra touches that made the completed project way above the norm. All of their employees are very knowledgeable, professional and respectful. Any questions and issues were handled promptly and seamlessly to us. The attention to detail was amazing. Every night everything was cleaned up and we feel the project was a mess free as possible. We were so happy we are having them do quite a bit of painting shortly. When my husband and I talked about this additional painting I asked him if he thought we should get more estimates. His answer was ' why would we want anyone else other than Remodeling and Painting Experts'?

EXPERTS for sure! We bought our first home that was in need of a little TLC and updating. And when we say a little we mean A LOT. We worked with Susan & Jim to design a complete kitchen renovation and bathroom update. Jim's team also removed wallpaper, repaired and painted walls throughout the house, and coordinated install/refinishing of our hardwood floors. Both Susan and Jim were helpful in suggesting creative solutions while keeping in mind our budget and timeline. We are very happy with the finished product!

Jim and his company remolded our kitchen aprox 5 years ago. They removed a soffit and installed new lighting in the kitchen, expanded a doorway, installed hard wood floors and refinished existing hardwoods. We were VERY please with Jim, all of his crew and the excellent job they did. Always on time, professionals individuals who were also nice to our four kids - even though they were probably in the way! They even fed our guinea pig for 2 days while we were out of town! We would definitely use them again when we have another home remolding project.

After receiving six different bids for a complete kitchen remodel, we hired Jim Hubbard and his company, Remodeling and Painting Experts Inc. in the spring of 2016. We purchased our Crestwood home in October of 2015 and the kitchen was in desperate need of updating. Our house is a ranch style brick home built in 1964, and very little had been updated since its construction. We needed new cabinets, new flooring, new countertops, new appliances, a new back exterior door, new lighting, new outlets, new baseboards, and a new kitchen stack (as the existing stack was cast iron). We also wanted to remove some wall space in the middle of the house to open up the kitchen into the front living room. Jim and his team were responsive to our requests and concerns. A remodel of this size is not a single point of purchase, but rather a process that you have to live through. If my wife and I had a concern on a Sunday morning, we would send a text to Jim about it. He always responded and always had a solution. His employees were also responsive to questions and concerns, and were respectful of our home and always cleaned up after themselves. If there were concerns that we needed to be aware of, they made sure that we knew about them. We lived in the basement while essentially the entire upstairs was being demolished and rebuilt. As to the details of the remodel, Jim and his team did the following. They replaced the existing kitchen tile, front foyer tile, bedroom hallway tile, and the carpet in the adjacent den with red oak floors to match the existing red oak flooring in the front room (also adjacent to the kitchen). We had approximately 250 square feet of existing hardwood in the front room of the house. Even though the existing oak in the front room was over 50 years old, they were able to match the older oak to the newer oak. They refinished the older oak and applied a sealer and three coats of urethane. We have a 90-pound dog and the extra layers were a must. They also removed a large section of the wall that separated the kitchen from the front room of the house. This wall was replaced with a beam that actually added a bit of character to the upstairs. Doing so made the upstairs feel much less boxy, and created excellent sight lines. We ordered our cabinets and granite countertops through Creative Kitchen and Bath of Kirkwood, MO. Jim and his team installed the cabinets and another company took the template for the countertops and fabricated the granite. The granite came from Superior Granite Inc. of St. Louis, MO. They installed 4” baseboards throughout the upstairs and installed new appliances that we purchased ourselves. Even though we purchased the appliances from another retailer, they installed the appliances with no problems. They moved the gas line and the water line to accommodate the new location of the refrigerator and the gas oven we purchased. They also installed canned lighting in the ceiling, and hung a chandelier and two pendant lights that we purchased from Metro Lighting of St. Louis, MO. Jim’s team also moved two floor registers from one side of the den to the other, replaced an existing cast iron kitchen stack with PVC, removed an existing kitchen window (to make extra room for a pantry), and installed a new ceiling fan in the den. Much to our dismay, we were forced to remodel the master bathroom that shared a wall with the kitchen. Months earlier, I demolished the bathroom with the intention of remodeling it at a later date. Jim informed us that in order for the kitchen to pass inspection, that bathroom had to be completed. Jim and his team had to change their schedule in order to accommodate that necessary project and did an excellent job. We purchased a vanity and tile, and his team installed a shower pan and glass door. The bathroom was finished in only a couple weeks. Overall, we are very happy with the remodel of the kitchen and the bathroom. We will have additional projects in the future and plan on calling Jim and his team to complete them.

We hired Remodeling and Painting Experts Inc. to refurbish our bathroom. It needed a total make over, we had some ideas and they understood what we were looking for. Jim is responsive and reliable. A man that keeps his word is not self understood in the construction and renovation world. His employees take pride in their work (Tracy!) and when there is an issue, they will address it and deal with it. We can wholeheartedly recommend them,... if you can get them as they are very busy.

Absolutely the best! I'm building a new home in Kirkwood, and out of all our subcontractors, Remodeling and Painting Experts was the best! They are extremely professional and take pride in their trade. Jim and Susan completely designed my dream kitchen with my budget in mind, and gave me ideas for upgrades in the future. They do not believe in cutting corners, and even called out another subcontractor of mine that was apparently doing a poor job. They only send professional employees in branded trucks to your home, so you can take comfort that not just anyone is at your house. I will not use anyone except for Remodeling Experts in the future and I have already told all of my friends and family about them.

I found Remodeling Experts on Houzz and I am very happy with the result. The job was for a condo in Kirkwood where I remodeled my bathroom, including new tile around an existing tub, a new vanity, toilet, and wall resurfacing/painting. I also used Remodeling Exports for a new engineered wood kitchen floor and small entryway as well as adding baseboards in my kitchen and in two bedrooms. I have a very demanding work schedule and was very pleased with the flexibility that Remodeling Experts was able to provide. The bathroom was my only bathroom and the company did a great job to make sure I had a working toilet. Jim was great in providing ideas at the initial bid that enhanced the finished project. Susan in the office was extremely helpful in assisting me in design and finding the what looked great in my house and Lisa was very responsive when I had questions/concerns. The company does everything by the book - living in Kirkwood, there were several permit/code and inspection requirements, which Jim was on top of before the project began so there were no delays on his end. In terms of price/cost, the company was great in working with me to find the optimal supplies/design that maximized the value of my remodeling investment. Overall, I would highly recommend Remodeling Experts and plan to use them in subsequent remodeling projects at my current and future residence.

Jim and his crew did a great job remodeling and making my 60's ranch more modern. Jim listened to my ideas - and talked me out of some that in hindsight we're very good - and worked with me where possible on the budget. July 2014 We just completed a complete remodeling of our home in Sunset Hills. We’re happy to report it was completed within budget and as scheduled. This included a completely new kitchen, installation of hardwood floors, remodeling of two bathrooms, the installation of new patio doors and a complete repainting of every room in the house. With all that work, there were plenty of places that could have caused major problems, and there were a few small issues, but we’re happy to report, that Jim Hubbard and his crew at Remodelling Experts didn’t miss a step. We’re still amazed that it all came together so well. We would also note that during the planning phase, we were unsure of exactly what we wanted and turned to Jim for advice. With his experience, he’s an excellent source of information on everything from the cabinet layout to the choice of colors and materials we eventually selected. Of course, we had every confidence that everything would work out well. We’re used Remodelling Experts on several jobs in the past, and the results have always been consistently wonderful.

My husband and I hired Jim Hubbard of Remodeling Experts to replace our kitchen, replace the flooring in the front half of our ranch-style house, tear out a closet and put in cabinets , replace our windows, and build-in bookcases. The job took about 3 months and has completely changed our home. We have the highest regard forJim's professionalism and craftsmanship. All of the people who work for him, or subcontract with him are professional, and the workmanship is of the highest quality. We came to Jim with an idea of replacing the kitchen and in dialogue with him and Susan Deffaa of Creative Kitchen and Bath a design for our home materialized. We replaced the worn carpeting with hardwood and travertine. Jim recommended the travertine and we love it. As the project unfolded we made more changes, deciding to tear out another closet and replace it with utility cabinets. We love all of the natural materials, we have wood and stone (granite countertops, travertine) throughout now and we love how it feels to be in the house. We highly recommend this company.

Our bathroom came out so good and it's a complete transformation from our 1990s bathroom! They delivered on what they promised and much more. The whole process was on time as quoted and kept me informed throughout the whole process. Everyone who came to work on our bathroom was very professional and their workmanship the best. They came on time each day and they did their best to keep the rest of the house undisturbed. Jim was very easy to work with, fair and accommodating with any issues that came up. I would use this company with any remodeling project we have in the future.

Jim and his crew truly care about the quality of their work. Should a subcontractor do a great job, Jim commends them. Should they do a less than great job, Jim requires them to fix it at no cost to the client. They want their customers to be happy with the final product and they execute requests flawlessly.

Jim and his crew did an excellent job remodeling our kitchen and hall bath. The craftsmanship was excellent and their attention to detail assured us no corners would be cut. It was obvious that our satisfaction and peace of mind was Jim's top priority. He insisted on replacing the shower walls at his expense when I wasn't happy with how the first installation turned out. From start to finish of our remodeling project (new kitchen, bath and family room), Jim Hubbard and Susan Deffaa were knowledgable regarding design and product and listened to what we wanted to incorporate. We initially interviewed 5 companies. We chose Creative Kitchen and Bath/Remodeling and Painting Experts because of ease of communication, assessibilty, convenience of a showroom with many products, and many years of combined experience in the design and remodeling field. Their pricing was competitive, with quality products, and respectful of our budget. Demolition began on the date planned to start the project and all products were available as soon as needed. The timeline given for completion (8 weeks) was accurate and the work was actually finished two days ahead of schedule! Daily communication was easily handled, both with the designer and contractor. When a few inevitable problems arose with products and/or installation, they were responsive and corrected without delay. Along the way, we made slight changes in the design and selection of products. These changes were easily accomodated. Both Susan and Jim offered sound advice for many of the details of our remodeling, which we were ultimately very pleased with. We felt comfortable with Jim's crew being in our home on a daily basis. They were respectful, meticulous in clean-up and diligent workers, arriving promptly each morning and working steadily throughout the day. We would recommend this company without reservation. We are thrilled with the end result and know we will enjoy our new kitchen, bath and family room for many years.

I hired Jim and his crew to completely gut renovate the kitchen in my Skinker/DeBaliviere home, built in 1908. Going into the renovation, we knew there would be issues due to the age of the home, but whenever an issue arose, Jim helped to explain it and then fix it with very little worry or stress for me. Because of the excellent job that Jim did on the kitchen, I decided to go ahead with renovations of the two upstairs bathrooms which were also completely gutted. My highest compliment to Jim is that he is extremely focused on the satisfaction of the customer. Every project he has completed for me has been virtually stress free and that is due to the care and attention to detail that Jim brings to each and every job.

We hired Remodeling and Painting Experts to remodel both of our upstairs bathrooms. Jim and his crew did a great job completing them in the promised amount of time, were always on time in the morning, and were very focused on making sure what I wanted was what was done. Jim was very knowlegable in making suggestions of how to make the bathrooms as functional and practical as possible while still maintaining a great look and feel. Jim and his guys always had a very positive attitude and I did not feel strange having them in my home like I have with other contractors. He stayed within my budget and even suggested some money saving ideas that weren't even a part of what I had in mind. He ended up saving me money just because he knew ways to approach the project pragmatically. Since he did our bathrooms, I have hired him to do our family room floors, our basement painting and minor fixing and I know that when it comes time to do our kitchen, I will call Jim at Remodeling and Painting Experts first. I have always gotten other estimates, and enevitably always end up with Jim because of price, confidence that he willl do it right, and knowing that he is focused on trying to stay on task with a reasonable timeframe.

I converted my attached garage to a family room and built a separate detached garage. Remodeling Experts handled EVERYTHING including the architectural services, installation of a vented fireplace, a wall of custom bookshelves and a desk area. There were no surprises in the budget although I made changes as the process went along and Jim was able to work with me. In fact, because of his experience, he is able to make really nice suggestions in terms of what is trending and how things will work once finished. After this process, I used Remodeling Experts to update my master bath (gutted down to the studs) and then my children's bath. That's my best recommendation - that I continue to use Jim's company. His people are reliable, neat and polite. I'm happy to have them work in my home.
