Robert Montgomery built our home, and the experience was truly a joy from start to finish. He was involved at every stage, from the architectural renderings to the daily on-site visits to the punch list at the end, and we felt so strongly about his integrity and end product that we hired him 5 years later to do a major renovation of our lower level area, without so much as getting a bid from another contractor. To this day, I call Robert whenever I need advice about a particular repair or issue; he has always been there for me. When my wife and I moved to Kansas City eight years ago, we purchased a home built by Robert Montgomery. Although we were planning at the time to have a home built, when we toured an existing Montgomery home that was for sale and observed the quality and workmanship, we changed our plans. We purchased that home, which was five years old. We did not know or meet Robert Montgomery at that time. When the home was inspected as part of the purchase, the inspector even commented upon the quality of the craftsmanship. After we moved in, we wanted to make a few changes, such as enlarging two windows, changing some of the kitchen cabinetry, extending the marble floor in the master bathroom, and modifying the front doors by adding a window in each door for light. We did not want to affect the integrity of the home, so we contacted Robert Montgomery and asked if we might retain him to oversee the changes. He graciously agreed, even though we were second owners and these projects were relatively small. In the course of these projects, we confirmed time and again what we suspected the minute we first saw this home – Robert Montgomery is a builder who loves his creations, takes pride in every aspect of the work, hires the best craftsmen and subcontractors, and insists on the highest quality in the end product. We’ve seen him inspect the work of a subcontractor and have it torn out and redone if not up to his standards. Robert carefully blended each project into our home so that it is impossible to tell that any change was ever made. He is a perfectionist. The front doors are a good example – Robert had the doors modified to add a window in each. He added iron-work that matches the design of the stair railing in the entryway. We wanted light in our entryway, but we got a work of art. (See photo) Since then, we’ve had other projects from time to time, and he always responds, no matter how busy he is. For example, some of the bricks in the courtyard wall had broken due to freezing and thawing during the winter. He tracked down matching bricks and then coaxed the original stonemason out of retirement to make the repairs. Robert Montgomery is an architect by training but a builder by choice. In all our dealings, he has been responsive, patient, friendly and professional. What he has done for us goes above and beyond what is expected of a builder, and we know that in great part he does this because he takes such pride in his work. He seems to love our home as much as we do. We've attached a few photos – we could have included many more.

Robert built our home for over two years. There is no one I would trust more. He treated the work as if he was building his own home. Many times he was more concerned with things than we were - I knew I had the right guy then. A consummate professional. You get what you pay for and with Robert you get the best!
