Alexandra and her tradespeople were professional and diligent and a pleasure to work with. Since this project was not our primary residence we were away for most of the renovation. Alexandra acted as project manager and worked closely with the general contractor (Duncan) to coordinate delivery and scheduling. She kept us informed through phone calls, emails and photos. She was invariably warm and polite throughout the process. Quality of the finished project is second to none.

We worked with Alexandra at Thomas and Birch to design and build a new kitchen for our 1912 home. Alexandra was so great to work with! We first met Alexandra Graham of Thomas & Birch at a home show in Victoria. We immediately took a liking to her style and professional approach. She was very easy to communicate with, asked the right questions to ensure that the design met our specific needs, and made the whole process enjoyable. Jason the installer for the cabinets was meticulous, professional and respectful of our home. Alexandra also guided us in choosing our countertop suggesting a local company for the job. We were pleased with the product, installation and price. A big shout out to Adam Songhurst of Forefront tile for his excellent work on the backsplash too. Alexandra and her team navigated our reno during covid which presented many challenges all of which were handled without compromising the job. If we ever have the opportunity to do another renovation I would not hesitate to use the services of Alexandra Graham of Thomas & Birch.

We have had the pleasure of working with Alexandra on a few occasions now (laundry room remodel, bathroom remodel & cabinetry in our family room). Whether in the showroom or in our home, Alexandra's professionalism, warmth, kindness, and attention to detail shines. Thomas and Birch did our kitchen Reno at the beginning of covid 19. Everything was excellent from Alex’s design work and insight to the beautiful install and all follow up. The cabinets are superior to anything else we saw and the level of customization was really great. We have been very happy with our kitchen and with the excellent product and customer service. The project was on time and on budget. We would not hesitate to recommend.

Well my new “forever” kitchen is in. I usually think it’s cute when my husband uses “forever” to describe anything to do with home design. Until now, I haven’t met a “forever” I wasn’t secretly plotting against after a few years. However, this time it appears he may be right (He’s never gonna see this so it’s safe to admit). Designed by Alex Graham, we went with the Elmwood line in White Cinder. The 1” thick doors we’re worth going with for sure. Floor to ceiling cabinetry looks great in this house. We installed pull out stools from Hideaway Solutions so I can actually reach most of them all the way to the top. The process went pretty smooth during what’s been a year long renovation process fraught with delay. Still, not whining here, it’s a perfect kitchen.

She is professional, experienced, very accommodating and works so hard to bring a great balance between a beautiful product but also mindful about a budget. We are very happy with our custom-designed closet which Alexandra helped us with from concept to finish. She offered space-saving and functional ideas as well as cost-savings where it made sense. The installer/carpenter was professional and, even during Covid-19 times, completed the job on time and with care to details and function. Thomas and Birch's employees all were attentive, professional and friendly which made for an enjoyable (as much as renovations can be, ha ha!) experience. We would use them again for our next job.

Thomas and Alexandra was delightful to work with. She is an attractive mother of two young children. She is very fashionable and this translates to her design work. Jason was wonderful in taking our concept for an ensuite bathroom cabinet, designing a practical and elegant cabinet to fit our narrow space and guiding us in choosing doors and a countertop. His design incorporated a countertop semi-circular sink that exactly meets my height and space requirements. He and the staff were personable and professional and completed our project in a timely manner.

My husband and I saw the interview of Thomas and Birch on Chek TV. Owner Jonathan professionally presented Cabico Cabinets, a Canadian Company, touching on the different styles, materials and finishes, all in a 5 minute advertisement. I knew this was the company I wanted us to use for our kitchen renovation. We met designer Jason, who very quickly learned what we wanted in our design, cabinet style, colour and finish. Jason was very knowledgeable and made suggestions when necessary, but also listened closely to our needs. A week later we had 3D drawings of our design. After a few changes we were ready to proceed. Jason reviewed the process of our Reno timeline and worked very well with our contractor. We were given a date when the cabinets would arrive and to our surprise, the 43 cabinets arrived on the scheduled date. Owner Jonathan set to installing the cabinets. Jonathan’s skills were very evident as he installed each cabinet with care and precision. He was easy to work with and always cleaned the job site before he left. Amazingly, the cabinets were installed in 4 days. I can unhesitatingly recommend Thomas and Birch. The entire renovation from start to finish was seamless. We couldn’t be happier with our new kitchen!

Our entire experience with Thomas and Birch was positive. Choosing cabinetry, hardware and countertops could have been overwhelming but the experts there described many options and styles, and reigned in our ideas so we ended up with a functional kitchen, ensuite bathrooms, laundry room, and powder room. They were fantastic during installation too; they took the time to ensure that everything fit well, and is even and level. The cost of the project was also quite reasonable. Alexandra with T&B was amazing to work with. We had a vision, but not being designers ourselves we needed someone to bring it to life within our budget. Alex did just that and more. Alexandra Graham of Thomas and Birch recently helped as design and renovate our original 1974, small, dark, kitchen - she turned it into a gorgeous, large, bright, and spacious kitchen that we are over-the-moon happy with!! Throughout the whole process she was truly fantastic to deal with. Aside from her vision and taste, she had really good suggestions and ideas on how to make the most of the space we were working with. The kitchen feels twice as big now, and I went from having minimal cabinet space to having more than I know what to do with!!! She also designed the vanity in our main bathroom. I saw an image I liked in a magazine and she recreated it perfectly - and even improved on it to make it more functional. At the time of this project we renovated our entire house - but our kitchen is really the main focal point of our home, and it turned out so much better than we imagined. We are so thrilled with Alexandra's creativity, vision, and professionalism. We will definitely use her services again in the future. We were very happy with Alexandra and the Thomas and Birch team. The cabinets were delivered ahead of schedule and were promptly installed. Thomas and Birch's follow up was also exceptional - they made sure to come out and go over everything with a fine tooth comb to ensure proper alignment, to fine-tune all of our hardware, and just to make sure everything was perfect. Casey was supportive, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She listened to my desires and wants and made appropriate suggestions. She was thorough in her measurements and double checked the irregular angles of some corners. As an interior decorator I rely on the expertise of kitchen specialists like Casey at Thomas and Birch. Casey recently completed a kitchen for my clients that incorporated some of their old cabinets and appliances while also adding a new island and upper cabinets. The project required extra attention to the design phase, owing to the re-use of existing cabinets, and a careful eye on the budget. Casey brought an impressive amount of caring and professionalism to the job and the results demonstrated just how well she executed the plan. I loved working with her, and I found her to be knowledgeable, creative, intuitive and a very good communicator. Thomas and Birch met all their commitments and overall the project turned out wonderful. Very happy to recommend Casey to anyone considering a kitchen project and beyond. She's great!

I hired Thomas and Birch to design and build two lower cabinets (including two drawers) to fill an empty corner of my kitchen. Casey, the designer, was fun to work with and very capable. After visiting our house and talking to me about how I would use the cabinets, Casey came up with a good design and provided drawings and a quote. When I requested a few changes, she quickly and cheerfully made the changes and provided revised drawings and a new quote. The cabinets were ready on the promised date, and a Thomas and Birch installer finished installing them within a few hours. He even installed a recycling system that slides out of one of the cabinets. Casey had sourced and ordered the system for me, and it fits perfectly. All in all, the job went very smoothly.

When we decided to have our 26 year old kitchen cabinets replaced, and redo the backsplash and counter tops we had two estimates done before we had Alexandra come out to our home. She had just started with Thomas and Birch at this time, but she made sure that we understood all of our choices and how any changes or additions would affect our budget. She was very professional, positive, and informative; helping us to make choices based on our needs and personal taste. I was very impressed with her knowledge of materials and how different parts of the project had to come together. We are extremely happy with the results of Alexandra's work with us and would highly recommend her to anyone considering the expertise of a decorator who actually listens to her clients and works with the contractor to bring their ideas to completion.

Incredible and very professional service! They built our dream kitchen! Our designer worked very good with other contractors such as plumber, electricians, flooring and painters. After completion they hosted a wine and cheese and many of our neighbours came to see our renovations. As a result, Our consultant met with one of our neighbours to discuss potential renovations. I hired Alexandra to assist me in renovating my 1990 townhouse kitchen and updating the main level décor. She is an energetic professional committed to helping her client reach their goals. She worked well with the contractor. Alexandra went the extra mile to find the best wall colour, finishing, accessories to meet my needs and coordinate the décor. Among the multitude of options available she helped me find the best choice for lighting, sink, countertop and tiles. She kept on top of the project with timely communications and site visits. Having a 1912 era house that had not seen an update in the kitchen since the 50's, it was in dire need of an update. Alexandra work with us from the very start to get us the kitchen that we wanted and made sure everything went as planned. When an issue came up with the cabinet supplier regarding the delivery date she made sure that it was all worked out and did not affect our timelines. We hired Jonathan, from Thomas & Birch further to the work we had seen completed on our neighbour’s townhouse unit. Jonathan’s engineering expertise was clearly visible in translating our preliminary rough sketches into 3D CAD drawings and providing options for permanent structures: some examples - (1) a recessed wall unit in the master bedroom, (2) recommending interior doors, throughout the unit, in keeping with the modern design, (3) working together to achieve efficient and functional, cabinetry within the kitchen and two full bathrooms in a transitional format. The finished work on these rooms were exactly as we envisioned - clean, simple and elegant. Jonathan’s very approachable, down-to-earth, “anything is possible” manner made our “ideas” a reality.

I'll preface my review to note that I've had previous experience with contractors and jobs gone awry before meeting Jonathan and the staff at Thomas and Birch. When we bought this house, I was prepared to stare at fake wood panelling for the rest of my days if it meant that I wouldn't have to deal with shoddy contractors and poor workmanship ever again. My husband however, had other ideas and he hired Jonathan to renovate my ensuite and laundry room. I'm talking a full gut for both rooms, right down to the studs. Jonathan not only met, but most certainly surpassed any expectations that I had for him. His quotes and timelines were accurate, and he assisted me with all aspects of the design (I became very overwhelmed with all of the choices that had to be made, and he patiently guided me through every one of them, helping me to weigh the pros and cons of options available to me). Jonathan was approachable and readily available to me throughout the entire process. Both rooms have been heavily used by all 5 of us (3 of us being young children with little regard for closing cupboards gently/using things with care) for 4 years and have held up beautifully. The quality of both the products used and the craftsmanship in installation is evident. I would not hesitate to recommend Jonathan and the staff at Thomas and Birch to anyone.
