Urban Colony

This urban colony black label home company is a scam. I have worked with them on multiple occasions over the past few years and now all the pieces they sold me are falling apart now. They will not take any responsibility . On one occasion they forgot to ship half of my order for my Mexico project and refused to Take responsibility. I ended up paying extra $3000 for the pieces they forgot to ship. They refused to compensate me in any way. I stopped working with them after that but now, 2 years later, their furniture is Gallo g apart and they have zero intention of doing anything about it. This company is a scam . Their prices are outrageous for the mediocre quality. I would say bad quality since multiple pieces are falling apart. I have hired repair people to fix the furniture that black label home and ur an colony sold me and they said that the furniture was not made properly. I will be rectofing it on court since there are so many pieces falling apart. Stay away! Dishonesties manipulative lying people.

Had a great experience working with Robert at Urbancolony. They are so accommodating and were able to make anything custom to fit my space and decor perfectly! Couldn't be happier with the product, such quality work! I have recommended this company to many and received so many compliments on his furniture. Will definitely be coming back with future projects.

I have been working with Urban Colony for several years now, but I met the owner Robert many many years ago when he had an import business. I always receive such great customer service from him and his assistant Janay. They are very kind, very professional and their products are very high quality with reasonable prices. I have brought many of my clients to his showroom and feel lucky I have such a great source! I highly recommend them!!!

Robert at Urban was so patient with me. I am a bit annal and afraid of making a mistake. I think I visited his store 3 times before I could make up my mind. I purchased a dining room table, coffee table, couch and 2 awesome blue chairs. The blue chairs and coffee table were sample sales (saving me beaucoup bucks) and the table and couch had to be made. I was shocked when he called less than 3 weeks later to tell me the table and couch were ready. He has a very professional helper who delivered both times and set up everything for me. Besides being very patient, and non pressure Robert is creative. He is helping me in making another decision on a project that I will have him do for the back of my counter with stools. And my 2 yellow labs love the blue chairs.

I was looking for a new sofa and coffee table for my living room and heard about Robert and Urban Colony from a local shop owner who does interior design herself. She has fabulous taste so I decided to take her advice. I was so glad I did. Not only does Robert have fantastic taste, but what a great guy. He helped me pick out a sofa with the perfect fabric. Then he showed me a coffee table that was in his clearance room that worked perfectly. He helped me realize my vision and I am absolutely thrilled. Thanks Robert!

This was the first time I have commissioned a custom designed set from hardware to upholstery so I was both excited and cautious. Bob was incredible through the process and talked me through every option of construction and zeroed in on the design almost instantly. Every angle width, length and cushion fill was perfected to the nth degree. Bob was always mindful of my budget, delivered surprisingly fast and gave me the best possible product -- the most comfortable modern sofas I've ever sank into. I couldn't be happier with the result. The tailoring and finish on the hardware is terrific. The pieces have transformed my space and every single person who has seen them (the neighbor, the scotch-guard service, the cable guy(!) ) has complimented the pieces and the workmanship. Robert provided great design solutions and beautiful furniture for our NYC apt. People walk into our apt and say it is the most beautiful NYC apt they have ever seen. His design ideas were brilliant. We were stuck and couldn't decide on fabrics, style, size, fill, pillows and cushions and Robert quickly identified the issue and provided an incredible result. The best part was the speed, quality and price. The workmanship was the highest standards and the materials were top quality. He had our whole apt done in 2 weeks. He is the best kept secret in interior design.

I had some custom sofas made by Urban Colony and I can highly recommend them. The quality is exceptional and the turnaround time is unheard of in this industry (2 weeks).

I found Robert on Houzz and reached out to him to inquire about his design services. He responded immediately and made an appointment to come to our home on New Year's Eve! Our initial project was re-doing our outdated/clunky fireplace to align with our more modern/contemporary home. He helped us pick out tile and came up with the brilliant idea of installing it vertically instead of horizontally. The end result exceeded our expectations. The next step was selecting new furniture for the room. We went to his showroom and picked out some fabric samples/swatches ... then shopped around some furniture stores to hone in on the look and feel we wanted for the room. After showing Robert pictures and telling him what we liked and didn't like about the various pieces, he sketched out the perfect plan: 2 over-sized club chairs, 2 ottomans and 2 sofas. It takes a leap of faith to order furniture based on sketches, but we felt confident that Robert understood our objectives. Our new furniture was delivered today, and we're thrilled with the look, feel and functionality! Robert thinks about details that don't cross your mind; for example, adding a shelf at the bottom of the ottoman for storage. And using faux leather for the ottoman instead of fabric since it's easier to clean since your feet/shoes will be on the surface constantly. We have more home projects in the works and will definitely work with Robert again. He is a pleasure to work with -- really listens to you rather than projecting his own opinions -- and is patient and professional. But most importantly, he has the unique ability to blend design with functionality. And by the way, his products and services are affordable (not cheap, but reasonable and fair)!

I had the good fortune to work with Robert on a large project and I cannot recommend him more highly. He was inspired, flexible, and beyond cooperative. He saved us enormous amounts of money by finding (or building) affordable alternatives. And while he has a great style all his own, he's capable of adjusting to any style you are going for. Whenever I'm asked about my experience with designers I always look for an excuse to bring up his name, as I'm hopeful that others will get a chance to use his services.

After seeing an email from Urban Colony, we decided to take a chance and stop by the showroom. After meeting Robert, we knew we wanted to work with him. A true designer himself, his knowledge and talent make him an invaluable resource for us. Since then, he's created many custom furnishings for us that we and our clients love. He is reliable, efficient, professional and creative.
