Castle Stones Worldwide

The Castle Stones tiles developed by Maurits Simonette are hand-crafted replicas of original antique marble and limestone tiles which originate from historic Flemish, French, and Italian mansions, villas, castles, monasteries, and churches. Castle Stones Bricks (Waaltjes) are replicas of old English and Dutch bricks that are no longer produced this way. The originals, referred to as Waaltjes, are the world’s oldest prefabricated construction elements; they were fashioned from clay and then fired. Inspired by the Renaissance period, old ruins, and historic edifices, these hand-made Castle Stones are produced with innovative blending and compression techniques using pulverized marble, high-grade cement, and pigments. With their look and feel, Castle Stone tiles can hardly be distinguished from antique floorcoverings. Castle Stones Loft and Dalle tiles can be used on floors and walls. They are also suitable for kitchens and bathrooms as well as areas with in-floor heating. The special charm of Castle Stones Bricks makes them ideal for entrance halls, kitchens, bathrooms, fireplace lounges, and wine cellars. Castle Stones are extremely lightweight and thin (from 6 to 8 mm), so they can also be laid in older condominiums and buildings classified under cultural heritage legislation. All tiles and stones are easy to maintain and totally colorfast. Since each element is hand-crafted, every flooring layout is one-of-a-kind.
