Aeonium nobile and Dymondia margaratae

Dymondia is a pefect choice for a walk-on thick growing ground cover for tough situations such as street strips, and could easily survive with just once a month irrigation in Alameda. The Dymondia was used here in all the areas where people would exit their parked cars, alternating with other taller succulents where no pedestrian access was required. The yellowish/chartreuse foliage with pale pink flowers is the winter/spring flowering dwarf Breath of Heaven, or Coleonema pulchellum 'Sunset Gold' from South Africa. This cultivar of Breath of Heaven has the same wonderfully pungent foliage fragrance of the larger growing species, but lends itself to being kept clipped low to the ground. It makes a beautiful foliage foil for succulents, and has excellent drought and coastal wind tolerance. Uploaded to Houzz with written permission.
