Intrinsic Landscapes
Tucked away in its own magical corner of the property is the sunken lawn area, complete with a fire pit, bespoke bench seating with cushions, garden steppers and path lighting. This area is for intimate relaxation around the fire with a drink, book or whatever takes your fancy.
Generous planting of Bamboo in the side garden beds form a thick, lush hedge and give great privacy form the neighbours and a feeling of seclusion. Along the rear boundary, maples and magnolias have been selected with their own up-lighting to create beautiful organic features while not impeding the view of the parklands behind.
Throughout the landscape there is a feeling of space, relaxation and luxury. However, it is most prominent at night when the entire garden becomes illuminated with a dazzling garden lighting system. The essence of this design is found in its multiple zones, all with their own scope and feel. It is the entertainer’s dream landscape!

Intrinsic Landscapes
A well-planned design was instrumental to achieving this stunning landscape in Oakleigh East, combined with bespoke materials and a top-of-the-line spa. Individual elements were carefully constructed to complete the ultimate outdoor entertainment area, but a strong native theme runs throughout the project to pull it all together.
The sprawling ironbark deck overlooks a gum tree filled reserve and boasts an impressive bar bench custom made from a reclaimed 1920’s ironbark beam with original posts and fittings. A large ironbark shelter has been constructed for the BBQ/smoker and is clad in leaf patterned laser cut screens. More screens are found behind the outdoor shower and throughout the garden which illustrate stencils of flora and even a playful platypus.
Two outstanding features of the entertainment area are the custom round hydrotherapy mineral plunge pool and mirroring stone paved fire pit seating area. They sit next to each other like yin and yang, capturing the complementary beauty of natural elements – fire, water, stone, wood.
Steps lead down to a pretty kitchen garden, set within steppers, pebbles and creeping plants in the lower area which is concealed from most other areas of the landscape.
A strategic garden lighting system brings the project to life at night. It highlights the features in the garden and creates a beautiful and inviting view from inside the house, tempting you out to enjoy the space all year long.
Raymour & Flanigan Furniture and Mattresses
Inspired by the original Adirondack chair designed in 1903, the Mopani outdoor chair is made for comfort. The deep seat, leg support, wide armrests and tall slat back let you sit back and relax as you enjoy the great outdoors. Astrid Insieme accessorizes with plaid throws, pelts, kilim pillows and some lanterns for effect.

CorTen steel waterbowls gleam in the low winter light, while frost glistens on the winter stems and leaves of the perennials. Incrediball hydrangea looks great in winter, too. The sturdy stems hold the flowers up well.
C2 | Studio Landscape Architecture
This redesign of an outdated landscape for a waterfront home on Cape Cod reacts directly to the site conditions and existing topography. An elevated septic system has been regraded and replanted with native species to more fluidly blend with the undulations of the natural landscape, while a fountain and reflecting pool mark the level of the 100-year flood, to which the site is susceptible. The shifting series of wood decks and boardwalks appear to float and hint at the natural processes at work on the site, while providing outdoor dining and relaxation areas anchored by a bold red screen fence that ties the landscape to the architecture.
