Donna Livingston DesignThis home was a love affair as it was a light filled 1956 house that needed a complete face lift. I literally took it down to the studs. I raised the ceilings and added a new master suite wing, and added onto the entry with new doors and windows. It had the potential to be a beauty with its lush greenery and private setting.
Flavin ArchitectsThis new house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood developed in the 1920’s, that is in transition, with new larger homes replacing the original modest-sized homes. The house is designed to be harmonious with its traditional neighbors, with divided lite windows, and hip roofs. The roofline of the shingled house steps down with the sloping property, keeping the house in scale with the neighborhood. UserThis living room features a sisal area rug that adds subtle texture and adds to the beach feel of the house. Asian screens are used as artwork on the walls and tie in with the Asian accessories on the mantel as well as the Asian print on the fabric valance and pillows.

Ginger Rabe Designs, LLCCarlsbad Cottage underwent a remarkable transformation under the creative direction of Ginger Rabe Designs. The project encompassed a comprehensive redesign, incorporating various custom elements and meticulous attention to detail from designing, space planning to implementation.
Living Room:
Custom cabinets were designed and crafted with intricate detailing, including wood selection, grain orientation, and overall design. These cabinets belonged to the GR Studio Cabinet Line.
A unique curved niche was introduced, featuring floating shelves, cabinets, custom lighting, and captivating tilework.
A handpicked wood beam was integrated to infuse character into the room.
Custom lighting, tile, and woodworking contributed to the enhanced ambiance of the living room.
Kitchen:
The kitchen received special attention, with a custom plastered hood adorned with a carefully selected wood beam that added coastal charm to the space.
Marble countertops, fixtures, and hardware were chosen to harmonize with the overall design concept.
The combination of materials and designs tied the kitchen's aesthetic together, blending the coastal-inspired feel with modern glamour.
Peacock Alley Design StudioA baby grand piano deserves a fantastic room to go with it! Washed linen by Robert Allen was used to reinvent these comfy and modern chairs. Drapes are made in a soft off-white with blue lattice trim.
The Expert Touch InteriorsMy clients asked me to transform their current living and dining room into a music room as their children enjoy playing their Baby Grand piano on a regular basis. The wall and french door was removed that was between the living room and dining room and we installed a linear electric fireplace with storage pullouts for some of their music books along the bottom on either side as well as floating shelves above the pullouts. Their wall to wall carpet was removed and new hardwood was laid down. Ceilings were scraped and pot lights were also placed throughout the space and lighting was installed underneath the floating shelves. My client loves artwork by Toronto based artist Sharon Barr so she commissioned a piece from her and that sits above the fireplace. We also installed the "Frame" TV by Samsung on the other side of the fireplace which looks like another piece of artwork nicely framed. My client already had 2 beautiful occasional chairs that we designed at Gresham House 6 years earlier so we re-purposed them in this room to sit in front of the fireplace. In the cozy sitting area, we grounded it with a beautiful silk and wool area rug, added a comfortable leather ottoman, a small round swivel chair, a beautiful contemporary sectional and a set of nesting end tables. All of this furniture was designed by The Expert Touch Interiors at The Decorating Centre. Final touches with accessories and the floor lamp and pouff were found at Urban Barn. My client's once dated and unused space is now a well-used dual purpose room that the whole family can enjoy!
