Archaeo ArchitectsThe clients wanted a “solid, old-world feel”, like an old Mexican hacienda, small yet energy-efficient. They wanted a house that was warm and comfortable, with monastic simplicity; the sense of a house as a haven, a retreat.
The project’s design origins come from a combination of the traditional Mexican hacienda and the regional Northern New Mexican style. Room proportions, sizes and volume were determined by assessing traditional homes of this character. This was combined with a more contemporary geometric clarity of rooms and their interrelationship. The overall intent was to achieve what Mario Botta called “A newness of the old and an archaeology of the new…a sense both of historic continuity and of present day innovation”.
Susan Brook InteriorsThe home is a 1950's ranch and now has a complete flow from each room. The client requested an English feel in the living room, i re-upholstered existing pieces as well as custom drapes. The foot stools were upholstered in a square quadrant style, a challenge to my upholsterer as they were rectangular! The needlepoint pillows and art work give a relaxed feel with the furnishings chosen. The lamps are original to the client and to balance their size a large ornate mirror was chosen sitting on top of a new media console. I used a strie wallpaper and a color on the ceiling, i added architectural detailing to the existing base board giving it a stronger scale also adding crown molding with my signature extra piece.

Haycon Inc.Haycon very recently completed the new construction on this 16,200 square foot building. Spanning just over a year in construction, this 6 story, 16 unit rental property was built with a $4 Million dollar budget. Constructed using Type 3 over Type 5 construction, Haycon coordinated the procurement and installation of penalized framing and terra cotta cladding, requiring an impeccable level of accuracy and expertise in execution.
