Cummings Architecture + InteriorsBlending contemporary and historic styles requires innovative design and a well-balanced aesthetic. That was the challenge we faced in creating a modern kitchen for this historic home in Lynnfield, MA. The final design retained the classically beautiful spatial and structural elements of the home while introducing a sleek sophistication. We mixed the two design palettes carefully. For instance, juxtaposing the warm, distressed wood of an original door with the smooth, brightness of non-paneled, maple cabinetry. A cork floor and accent cabinets of white metal add texture while a seated, step-down peninsula and built in bookcase create an open transition from the kitchen proper to an inviting dining space. This is truly a space where the past and present can coexist harmoniously.

Britany Hanthorn with MBS InteriorsThe kitchen was designed in Starmark Cabinetry's Maple Cosmopolitan featuring a tuxedo style with White and Graphite finishes. The Vicostone quartz counters are Sparkling Grey Poilshed. Hardware is from Hickory Hardware in Verona Bronze. Appliances from GE in Slate with a Sharp microwave drawer.
The English Contractor & Remodeling ServicesThe entry to this kitchen was once a narrow door from the dining room. We removed the wall and the old drop ceiling with an ornate fan. Old oak cabinetry was replaced with custom made cabinets, with lower cabinets in classic blue and upper cabinetry in white. The farmhouse sink from Signature Hardware is in an antique copper finish from their Steyn line. The faucet is also from the Steyn line and coordinate with the antique copper drawer pulls. Tile Backsplash is Equipe Scale Triangolo and Magical 3 Triol in white glass from Hamilton Parker. The dishwasher is from Bosch.
Metzdorf Designs and TCM BuiltCustom cabinets, granite tops, modern style appliances and lighting not only provide function but striking contrast to the exposed beam vaulted ceiling .
Kitchen & Bath Design + ConstructionLeft open or closed, these reclaimed wood barn doors are definate conversation starters. Closed, they hide this walk-in pantry area, but open they frame the pantry and serve as design a element.

Overland Remodeling & BuildersA complete kitchen remodeling project in Simi Valley. The project included a complete gut of the old kitchen with a new floorplan. The new kitchen includes: white shaker cabinets, quartz countertop, glass tile backsplash, bamboo flooring, stainless steel appliances, pendant lights above peninsula, recess LED lights, pantry, top display cabinets, soft closing doors and drawers, concealed drawer slides and banquette seating with hidden storage

ARDesign, Inc.Using soft natural wood tones in its simplest form was the key to this kitchen design. The beloved birds eye maple that is highlighted in the uppers trip of cabinets plays well with the beautiful bamboo flooring.
Using Architectural forms is not just for exteriors but interiors also. Using cabinetry, walls and bulkheads to create this 3-dimensional look that is dramatic yet a cozy seating when the kitchen comes to life when rich spices fill the air.
Authenticity, LLCArchitect: Michelle Penn, AIA Reminiscent of a farmhouse with simple lines and color, but yet a modern look influenced by the homeowner's Danish roots. This very compact home uses passive green building techniques. It is also wheelchair accessible and includes a elevator. We included an area to hang hats and jackets when coming in from the garage. The lower one works perfectly from a wheelchair. The owner loves to prep for meals so we designed a lower counter area for a wheelchair to simply pull up. Photo Credit: Dave Thiel
Kitcheart LLCThis was a kitchen renovation of a mid-century modern home in Peoria, Illinois. The galley kitchen needed more storage, professional cooking appliances, and more connection with the living spaces on the main floor. Kira Kyle, owner of Kitcheart, designed and built-in custom cabinetry with a gray stain finish to highlight the grain of the hickory. Hardware from Pottery Barn in brass. Appliances form Wolf, Vent-A-Hood, and Kitchen Aid. Reed glass was added to the china cabinets. The cabinet above the Kitchen Aid mixer was outfitted with baking storage. Pull-outs and extra deep drawers made storage more accessible. New Anderson windows improved the view. Storage more than doubled without increasing the footprint, and an arched opening to the family room allowed the cook to connect with the rest of the family.
David Crosson Design CollectiveTo achieve the pizzazz the client was seeking the existing cabinetry was lacquered a Dijon colour, accented with new pendants and refreshed concrete counter tops. Inspiration for the kitchen was drawn from the palette of the adjacent sitting area.
