Approx. 265 sq. ft. this small pool or spool (spa pool) has everything one needs to enjoy outdoor living life. Offset to one side of the yard, it allows for max use of the space. The approx. 330 sq. ft. french pattern silver travertine pool deck and straight edge pool coping gives this backyard a clean, simple, modern feel. With the soft zoyisa grass expanding almost to pool edges it gives the small space a vast, clean feel. The sunshelf in the pool adds a place of pause before entering the pool which has a max depth of 6 feet. No matter what time of year the spool is equiped with a pool heater that will have this oasis to 87 plus degrees within several hrs or less.

This freeform pool measures approximately 900 square feet. The 8'0" round spa sits nicely inside the swimming pool footprint, and both bodies of water are covered by the unique Deck-on-Deck "Picture Frame" automatic pool safety cover feature. This system allows an automatic pool cover to fit over a non-rectilinear pool. Valder's Flamed Gray pool and spa coping surround the pools. Valders Limestone pavers make up the two levels of decking and seating areas.

Legacy Landscape Design, LLCThis was a complete front and back transformation. We took the dirt from the back yard and used it to level the front yard and made both more useable. The main feature was a large gunite swimming pool, with built in diving board. We also built in the client's trampoline as well and left room for their play set and play house. It was a kids paradise! The kool deck was nice and cool in the summer and allowed for barefoot basketball games. We designed and installed a large Cedar screened in porch with fireplace and grill. Home & Garden Design, Atlanta - Danna Cain, ASLAThis view from upper deck shows the pool as the centerpiece of this large back yard. Due to the vastness of the yard and the towering trees, a very colorful rose and perennial garden was used to draw the viewers eye down to the pool level. In this photo you can more clearly see the colored and patterned pool deck as well as the flagstone coping. The lounge chair area was carefully sited to catch the most sun for tanning. The steps to the immediate right of steps lead down to a play lawn and native woodland.

CAVINESS LANDSCAPE DESIGN, INC.Featured on HGTV's "Cool Pools", the "Scuba Pool" was inspired by the homeowner's love for scuba diving, so we created stone tunnels and a deep diving area as well as lazy rivers and two grottos connected by a native Oklahoma boulder waterfall. A large beach entry gives young ones plenty of play space as well. These homeowners can entertain large groups easily with this multi-function outdoor space.

Lucas Lagoons Inc.Beyond the grand stone veneer entrance, a breezeway opens to a stunning outdoor living space with views of Sarasota bay. Over 1,000 square feet of flagstone decking lays right up to the edge of the rock waterfall pool, the stonework continues around to an outdoor shower made with three large boulders and massive stone steps to a secret tropical pathway behind the pool grotto. From here you can climb the grotto rocks and jump into the swimming pool, or meander on to the tiki hut. Once in the pool, the the swim up ledge in the grotto can be accessed from the pool’s sun shelf and is large enough to stand in.
If the walk-through grotto doesn’t make this one of the best lagoons in Florida, there is a fire pit peninsula between the lounge chairs on the sun shelf and the in-pool seating cove next to the oversize spa to maximize the space. Photo: Geza Darrah
