Here we have used darker wood tones to mimic the properties original step ladder, which leads up to a cosy mezzanine level. The addition of house plants is both on trend and brings the outside in, making the space a much more flowing and interesting space to inhabit.

Custom Design & ConstructionOur homeowners approached us for design help shortly after purchasing a fixer upper. They wanted to redesign the home into an open concept plan. Their goal was something that would serve multiple functions: allow them to entertain small groups while accommodating their two small children not only now but into the future as they grow up and have social lives of their own. They wanted the kitchen opened up to the living room to create a Great Room. The living room was also in need of an update including the bulky, existing brick fireplace. They were interested in an aesthetic that would have a mid-century flair with a modern layout. We added built-in cabinetry on either side of the fireplace mimicking the wood and stain color true to the era. The adjacent Family Room, needed minor updates to carry the mid-century flavor throughout.

RyanExisting sunroom (1958) conversion into functional 4-season mid century modern living space. The furniture and decor mainly consists of recycled, reclaimed and refurbished material from various location such as the Re-Store (Habitat for Humanity), garage sales, vintage stores and flea markets.
Prospect Refuge StudioA youthful and fun, family friendly living room space with a midcentury modern twist. Original art and vintage lighting combine with tailored upholstered furniture and layered graphic rugs.
Haven Design and ConstructionThe mid century living room is punctuated with deep blue accents that coordinate with the deep blue and walnut kitchen cabinets in the open living space. A mid century sofa with wood sides and back grounds the space, while a sunburst mirror and modern art provide additional character.
