The interiors were approached with an equal measure of restraint as the exterior material palette, which affords warmth and richness for all spaces. in addition, the configuration of the home integrates the outdoor garden areas with both the public and private space of the home.

We changed the layout just a bit, but what a difference it made! Now the room seems larger and more welcoming. The ottoman has been reupholstered in a pretty coordinating fabric. Accent pillows were sprinkled about liberally as they add pattern and texture to the room.

Instead of hiding the television, why not integrate it into the design? The darker wall (treated with grasscloth wallcovering) reduces the contrast between the wall and the TV, while the accents of black in the surrounding bookcases and framed photos pull the colour of the TV into the rest of the space.

This is the after picture for the Mrich Residence living room. We carried the concept of Serenity through this space. Here contrasting furniture pieces were chosen to compliment the light wood floor. The color palette of yellow and warm neutrals carries through this space from the family room.

This living room features a large set of glass sliding doors. These allow for natural light to enter the room, as well as access to the outdoors. Another fun feature of this living room is the vaulted ceiling. Vaulted ceilings tend to enlarge a space and are visually pleasing. From the vaulted ceiling hangs the chandelier, which supplements the recessed lighting.

Small scale yet profoundly comfortable secondary seating, like the red Eames wood lounge chair featured here, support long conversations without cramming the room or obstructing the view.

A neat way to display children's art is to mat and frame it. We purchased inexpensive mats and frames from Hobby Lobby. We also purchased Rustoleum chalk board paint and molding from Home Depot and created framed chalk boards for the family to enjoy.
