Nous avons choisi de dessiner les bureaux à l’image du magazine Beaux-Arts : un support neutre sur une trame contemporaine, un espace modulable dont le contenu change mensuellement. Les cadres au mur sont des pages blanches dans lesquelles des œuvres peuvent prendre place. Pour les mettre en valeur, nous avons choisi un blanc chaud dans l’intégralité des bureaux, afin de créer un espace clair et lumineux. La rampe d’escalier devait contraster avec le chêne déjà présent au sol, que nous avons prolongé à la verticale sur les murs pour que le visiteur lève la tête et que sont regard soit attiré par les œuvres exposées. Une belle entrée, majestueuse, nous sommes dans le volume respirant de l’accueil. Nous sommes chez « Les Beaux-Arts Magazine ».

This image captures the essence of a minimalist staircase design, emphasizing clean lines, light, and the architectural intent of the house. A narrow window with an arched top provides a view to the outside, allowing natural light to stream in and interact with the simplicity of the interior space. The window features a decorative element, perhaps frosted glass with a pattern that adds subtle detail without overwhelming the design. The staircase itself has a light wood finish that matches the flooring, and the handrail has a unique, modern profile that complements the geometric nature of the space. The walls and ceiling are painted in a crisp white, enhancing the bright and airy feel. This view of the staircase not only serves a functional purpose but also acts as a sculptural feature within the home, showcasing the architectural intent of blending form and function. The image suggests a thoughtful approach to design, where every element has been considered to create a space that is both beautiful and useful, embodying the overall architectural philosophy of the house.

Escalier et bibliothèque

Inspired by the luxurious hotels of Europe, we were inspired to keep the palette monochrome. but all the elements have strong lines that all work together to give a sense of drama. The amazing black and white geometric tiles take centre stage and greet everyone coming into this incredible double-fronted Victorian house. The stunning, architect-designed new staircase, is the beating heart of the house reconfiguration. A simple, sculptural form, runs like a spine from basement to top floor. The curves of this bespoke staircase work effortlessly with the stone of the floortiles and the wood of the staircase flooring. The windows which are seen on the left and right of the staircase, open the view from front to back of the house.

At the bottom of the stairs, this runner is met by a a fully fitted landing area. Both complement each other. The runner is a light grey Shetland runner with bold, darker stripes at the sides, which serve as a border. It is finished with Iron stair rods, which are now used for decoration purposes.

The renovated first floor has been transformed from a once dim and uninspiring hallway into a luminous, elegant entrance that instantly welcomes you in. A bespoke rug gracefully leads the way, while a dado rail separates the walls into a striking two-tone finish, providing the perfect canvas for curated artwork. A thoughtfully placed bench with a plush back cushion invites moments of pause, offering a serene spot to take in the refined surroundings. Overhead, glass-slatted chandeliers cast a warm glow, drawing the eye upward to the vaulted ceiling of the landing. Here, a breathtaking verdant mural spans two levels, leading the gaze to the mesmerising silver beads of the jellyfish-shaped chandelier that floats above. A beautifully crafted oak chest discreetly conceals the home’s water tank, ensuring an uninterrupted appreciation of the vaulted architecture. Four skylights that span north and south enhance the space and light of the landing and stairwell. Underfoot, a luxurious herringbone carpet softens each step, lending a sense of quiet comfort to the journey upwards. A seamless blend of elegance, artistry, and thoughtful design.
