Spa inspired Master Bath and Retreat
The sensuous spa like feel and “floating” alder cabinetry and millwork in this Master Bath combine to create Tuscan with a twist! As the design concept developed early in the construction phase, we revised the architect’s plan to eliminate arches over the vanities and traditional bow front cabinetry. Natural stone vessel sinks, a sleek freestanding tub, and subtle tile selections were used to reflect the owners love for a soothing pallet and clean lines. State of the art plumbing fixtures such as body jets and a Dornbracht rainhead, a radient heat floor, and placement of exercise equipment were priorities.
Preserving the integrity of the interior curve in the 5’ dia. shower posed an unexpected materials challenge. The design solution included a frosted glass ½” mosaic on the walls and a soft green sliced pebble tile on the floor. These two elements provide an interesting textural contrast which is enhanced by their harmonious and peaceful colors.
A private walled patio extends the “living area” of this comfortable space and allows windows to remain open for an unobstructed view of a tranquil wall mounted fountain.
