Our current fireplace and areas on each side. (They are not the same measurements- one side is wider). We are re-doing the fireplace in a cast stone mantel. (Have not picked it out yet). Wondering what to do on either side. I like the idea of floating shelves? What could we do here? I don’t think I want built in bookshelves etc — something lighter and simpler. I think 2 furniture pieces would be weird as well..
Something like these open shelves from Restoration hardware might be an option ? but would it look weird that the areas on either side of are different sizes?
This could go on one side of the fireplace???

Love the color! Keep gravitating towards it. Also love that big Mirror. Or maybe the red frame?
Love these wide chairs. Not really the fuzzy pillows, but the legs etc. Also love the mix of blinds and drapes. I always lean toward as much light as I can have in a room: so top up bottom down kind.

Like the benches. We do still have those stickley ones though they are a bit clunkier (could put in a bedroom etc)
We will need a runner for the stairs to go all the way to the roof! This look pretty boring! Also need very durable. (Dogs etc)

These shades are fine. I prefer the top down bottom up shades for the first floor
On to the kitchen! We are adding a tin ceiling insert (something like this) to go above the island!! 12 feet.

Love this. We are close to ordering from Ballard Design (only company that could do 48 x 48.. very basic. We ordered swatches and are most likely going with a performance fabric in a light/cream solid color. We can bring color in w pillows and chairs! I was thinking of putting the 2 chairs (fun color) by the windows and then pull them over to the table if needed? Did you tell me that... I think so!!
