18” X80” could be hinged for bifold and set into frame
Nice built in cabinet combo open shelving and closed storage...perfect place for printers and other unsightly necessities for today’s living.
Love the colors and the obvious way to create a library feel while simultaneously creating a cozy reading nook with a view!
Easy to reproduce a modern mantle using traditional elements like wood. Always an interesting combination to mix modern with traditional. By combining an element of each, ie the style of one with the materials of the other, you achieve something unique and interesting.
Love the gabled pavilion for all season use.
Interesting use of a space saving barn style door.
Always love a coffered ceiling!
What a great adaptation of the shared bedroom & storage!
Small spaces living large!
Awesome indoor / outdoor space
Idea provoking built in solutions...great window & reading light options.
Nice board and baton exterior. Is this application available in Hardy Board? Weather and pests are such an expensive issue for most natural woods...Cedar and Cypress are pest / water resistant but most are not.
Great use of the space with the bonus of closing the doors when not in use!
LOVE THIS ROOM...The wall of French doors with Transoms, Coffered Ceiling, Built In’s Flanking the Fireplace... Never have a home without at least one beautiful Fireplace!!! The furniture arrangement although a little on the formal side is great for entertaining!
Love the stone!
Storage on the bar side of the island for lesser used items. I would use touch latch closures on the cabinet doors rather than knobs so that the doors appear as architectural. Love the all glass doors & view to the yard. Herringbone application of the subway style.
Love the natural wood ceiling and all the glass...although not my style overall its a great idea room.
The use of fabric or wall paper panels for art behind the nightstands...mirrors are also great in that application for rooms that don’t have adequate or even oddly configured windows.
The unconventional use of beams and repeating it in the opening to the kitchen. Repeating a design element in at least three places ties it into the design unless it carries enough weight in a single use to stand alone.
Great multifunctional design in a rather small space for intimate conversation or solitude. The built in’s carry more design weight because of the lighting.
Love the wall of windows, the fireplace open to two ‘rooms’ & the long upholstered ‘sleeping bench’ as the divider for the living space so that the seating needs are multiplied and the views unobstructed.
Great use of available space turning an unused room into a dressing room...pretty and hardworking.
Interesting way to provide some division in an otherwise completely open space.
Interesting way to incorporate a ‘kitchen table’ into a kitchen island without having to put in unnecessary cabinetry, have hidden wasted space & have open space for the eye to travel. Love the windows above the counter!
The shaker style Hardy Board and the board & baton with the applied moldings to enhance the cottage style of this house. The architectural shingles complete the look.
When the bed (or anything) is between two windows and you still want to use drapery it is better to place a single panel all the way to the outside framing the furnishings. The overall look is balanced and uncrowded when open or closed.
Built in’s allow even the smallest areas to work and play hard. Storage and display are hidden and beautiful.
Great example of open and closed storage, variations in drawer depths to accommodate different purposes, using the curve on the bar side of the island to soften the look, the bonus of actually increasing the seating space as well as improving the conversational flow of those seated. Love the large window above the sink! The incorporation of the large hood above the range lends a fireplace look to the kitchen.
Love a fireplace in the bedroom whether faux or authentic it lends warmth and ambiance to the space. Great use of mirrors behind the bedside tables for symmetry and multiplying the light! Drapery to the ceiling, the chairs and ottoman flanking the fireplace and the bench at the end of the bed all make for a dreamy & cozy space everyone would love to spend time.
Love the large island with lots of storage and power outlets all around. Having the area of the barstools inset into the island makes for an overall cleaner look.
Great multiplication of shared sleeping space while adding storage into the sleeping footprint!
Great mix of luxe and natural. Interesting that the beams in the kitchen become coffered in the living room. Although the spaces are open to one another, the nuance of separation provided by the arched opening between the two allows for a transition in the application and use of the beams. The width variation of the wood flooring creates interest and lends a salvaged nod. Everything is bathed in natural light from the beautiful windows.
Great use of indoor/outdoor space. Weather protected while allowing natural light! The fireplace makes the space warm and cozy and also enhances the view from inside.
Love the coffered ceilings and the juxtaposed variation in the layout between the rooms. Love the wood flooring and the way they married the two spaces with the solid piece between.
Making the best use of the space available
Love the freestanding soaker tub, the tile wainscoting & the fact that it extends throughout the space and shower, the frameless shower glass and the full bench in the shower. Repeating the marble and tile elements makes the space seem larger.
In a small space its smart to have everything do double duty like the dresser also being the bedside table. The use of a smaller bed to allow for more play space is smart design for children.
Great example of ‘mobile’ design.
Great way to have a nice dining area without having to have the formal rarely used room. The beam between the soaring ceiling in the living area and the kitchen/dining area creates warmth and coziness. Although the two rooms are very different they are linked with color. Some of the primary uses of color in one room become accent colors in the adjacent room blending the two in a subtle way that the casual observer may not recognize outright but abstractly feels the connection.
