“When we finally found our perfect property and decided to use an architect to design our dream home, we searched for someone with a clear Modernist vision and a collaborative working style. Josh McCullar proved to be the perfect choice and, over the course of about 4 months, he transformed our ideas into a brilliant home design. Josh carefully considered (and modelled) the interplay of light throughout the day and year with window sizes and placements. The top-down process Josh used to present sketches, then drawings, solicit feedback, and make iterative revisions helped us refine our wants/needs in a logical flow. He suggested materials and finishes, but was always open to our own suggestions. Engineers were utilized as needed for site and structural considerations. Our budget didn't really match our dreams after getting a first round of bids, so when some revisions were needed to cut costs Josh played an integral role. We finished the design some time ago, but are now finally very close to finishing construction and are so excited to live in the "Goochland County Residence" that Josh designed with us.”
