“I have had the privilege of working alongside Emily Nair of i.Balter Design on a number of construction projects. Emily’s most valuable qualities are her attention to detail, her meticulousness with her drawings and her calm and efficient approach. She has a warm and respectful manner with clients and is highly approachable.
Emily’s ability to cater for the specific needs of her clients is outstanding. She is a great listener and is able to individualise her designs to suit the lifestyles of the people she designs for. She is highly organised and takes the stress away from the challenging and somewhat tedious tasks of obtaining permits and liaising with Council. I have received terrific feedback from many happy clients about Emily’s professionalism.
From a builder’s perspective, Emily’s plans are highly detailed and accurate. She is very knowledgeable with her understanding of construction, therefore making required changes to plans easily and quickly. Emily has planned extremely complex designs to difficult existing structures, such as her new extension to a severely dilapidated 1850’s homestead in Ivanhoe East. Her design resulted in a seamless addition to a historical Melbourne home; flawlessly unifying the beauty of yesteryear with the practicalities of today.

“Hi my name is Vicki and I hired 1 Step Design and Develop to assist me with designing and building my first home. I found the team to be extremely professional and helpful with all aspects of the project. Their ability to meet deadlines, work within my budget and work with others such as the council and my solicitor etc. was great.
They also connected me with amazing builders that made the entire process very stress free for which I am extremely appreciative of. “Arabella assessed the feasibility of a Toorak home for her client's potential purchase, examining the potential for alteration and restoration of the home to suit client needs. This is a special service, requiring an eye for detail and knowledge of planning constraints along with vision for what is possible for an old building and particular client needs on a somewhat constrained site. I provided a pre-purchase building report for the client to look for any major building defects.
When making a major investment and relocation, this sort of design advice is hard to find.
