I'm a budget focused guy and he was able provide thoughtful design solutions that minimized cost while maximizing the wow factor of our design. Our site was extremely steep (think near vertical) and Oscar was able to create an incredibly efficient solution by integrating structural and site design with our unconventional floorplan needs. “We've had the pleasure of working with Ken recently to design a custom home. All I can say is that he's an awesome guy! Ken understands the structural, mechanical, and technical aspects of construction inside and out. His drawings are exceptional. (We have received numerous compliments on the plans from contractors.) But he also has an incredible sense of design - from overall concept, to layout and flow, to architectural details, to lighting and interior design. He becomes heavily invested in his projects, and it clearly shows. The quality of his work is far better than many of the high-dollar architects we could never afford. It has been a fun process, we are thrilled with the result, and along the way we made a great friend. What more could we ask for? “Andrew Schilling of SALT Architecture is to me the nearly perfect architect. I have worked with and hired many architects on various projects over the years and they usually seem to be either creative or technical...Andrew is both (and more). When I was interviewing architects in the Portland area to build my house he stood out from the crowd with his excellent communication skills, technical ability, deep knowledge, experience, and ability to capture our dreams and represent them in drawings. Frankly, I had expected him to have the highest bid of the group...and when he didn't I smiled and immediately accepted Now, with our project complete I am able to look back and say that it was an excellent decision on our part and I am looking forward to working with him and the SALT team with more builds in the future.”

We were extremely thankful to have Kris's help with paint colors, furniture, carpets and all other accessories that turned our living room / dining room / kitchen area into a warm and inviting place for our family and friends to gather.
