“Peter Latemore and Annelise Spurgeon were an outstanding team to work with to create a home for our young family of 5. Ticking all the boxes, Annelise and Peter took our grand old lady and renovated her to perfection. There was much to achieve on a tight budget. No longer able to put up with the tight working spaces in the kitchen and laundry, lack of storage and children with little room to spread out and play, we were frustrated by an ageing layout that did not suit contemporary living. Our brief was to find space and flow, for our growing family, keeping the beauty and street appeal of the old girl and introduce her to a modern style of living. We also wanted to take advantage of the elevation and breezes, keeping our economic, natural air conditioning system (there's not an air-con in sight and the only fan is one required under the Code on the patio) and imitating the benefits of double cavity brick throughout the new extension. We wanted a design that would grow with us, thinking ahead to a future second floor when the kids got a bit older. We also had to deal with a steep sloping block, ineffective terracing and poor existing hydraulics. The end result is a magnificent, comfortable home where everyone and everything has a place to come together and a place to hide away from it all. It's a striking mix of old and new that we love to spend every minute in and to host our family and friends as often as possible. And all this well on time and under budget with close communication between all parties and an eye for all the detail. Annelise and Peter work so well together, its clear they hold a high professional respect for each other, each bringing their own wealth of knowledge and experience to the drawing board. They were incredibly easy to work with during the design phase, providing valuable insight whilst giving us plenty of input into the process and listening keenly to all our concerns and ideas. It was also comforting to have them both step through the build right by our side. They have truly given us the home of our dreams and have already recommended them to others to help them build theirs.”

“After coming to the conclusion that we needed an outdoor entertainment area, we contacted Dion and others to discuss our options. All the other people offered to come to our house to provide a free quote and consultation. Dion was the only one that charged for this service. After initially baulking at the price, we reluctantly decided to proceed with his consultation fee. We were quite nervous in paying this amount because we did not know what value Dion would provide. Even on the day that Dion was to arrive, we still had doubts whether this was the right thing to do - but we decided to have an open mind. Dion not only arrived on time but he actually talked to us and wanted to get a feel for what we did in the different parts of the house. Yes his brief was that we needed an outdoor entertainment area, but within 20 minutes of Dion's consultation, he was challenging us on that notion. His challenging questions and realistic answers shed new light on what we thought we wanted. The easy path that Dion could have taken was to agree with what we wanted. If we went down that path, Dion would have been happy but after living with the outdoor entertainment area, we would not have been. Dion instead really listened to our needs and presented ideas that went to the heart of what we wanted. His ideas were fantastic and the consultation fee was, in our eyes, a small price compared to the value that he provided. If you have any doubts on the value of this fee for service, don't. You will be amazed on what he delivers. By the way, the other people who supplied the free quotes spent as little time as they could with us and did not provide any ideas on the solution that we actually wanted.”
