“Renovation design for our 1910 crumbling craftsman - updated the look while preserving craftsman character. Punched out the roofline to create a dramatic front porch that casts lighting into a beautiful cedar ceiling you can see from a block away. We have the most unique craftsman on the block that is both beautiful and functional. Highly recommend!!”

“We hired Group Architect for our major remodel/2nd story addition of our mid-century modern home and worked with the two owners, Brian and Scott. We were extremely impressed by their knowledge of building codes (our house is in an ECA zone), design and material ideas, communication skills (with ourselves and our contractor) and professional manner. They were very responsive to our ideas, requests and many questions. It was very important to Brian, Scott and ourselves that the completed home maintain some of its original character and style and not look like it was an add on, while adding many modern elements. The project was a huge success. We would highly recommend Group Architect.”

“Lane Williams took our dated and very tired looking 1960’s one story, pitched roof home with a daylight basement and transformed it into a beautiful modern home with strong horizontal and vertical planes and cantilevered masses. Lane's vision for the house really came together when we decided to spend the money to expand the carport to two cars. We were thinking it might not work, but when he showed us the renderings we both just thought wow – it balanced everything out and got us a look that was spectacular. “After hearing countless horror stories about the remodel and construction process, I have to say that architect Jeff Babienko and his team at bARC have made the journey better than we could have ever imagined. His approach, vision, professionalism and attention to detail are nothing less than top notch. Babienko has a very thorough up-front exploration process that we thought a bit excessive, but discovered that it is this very process that allows him to steward the project with all the nuances of "feel", aesthetic and functionality that we were after with the remodel. While we forgot certain elements of what we wanted along the way, he and his team did not. It was amazing! The entire journey was a very collaborative, seamless and an entirely transparent process. His expertise as the interface with the construction team was invaluable and we can't imagine having done it any other way. We won't work with anyone else!”

“We have worked with Patricia Brennan Architects on 4 different projects of varying scale - from a kitchen/bathroom remodel to the transformation of a 4-story derelict warehouse into an AIA award winning building of artist live/work spaces. Each experience has left us with a deep appreciation for the work she does and how she does it. Patricia listens closely - she listens to the physical space of the project and she listens to the desires and needs of her clients. She engages in a collaborative dialogue at the outset of a project and continues the dialogue until the project is complete. She has an amazing sense of color, a wide range of knowledge about all kinds of materials (from lighting to flooring and everything in between) and she provides recommendations for high quality professionals and reliable contractors. She’s attentive to detail, to budget, to practical problem solving and to the aesthetics, flow and functionality of a space. Each project we’ve done with Patricia has exceeded our hopes and left us with living spaces we love to be in. “My wife and I have a difficult lot to build a house on due to its irregular slope, steep in some areas. In order to have a view of Puget Sound the main floor had to be as high as possible. Before hiring Rhodes Architecture + Light we met with a few builders who do their own design work. They were unable to come up with an acceptable way to achieve the floor height we need. This drove us to look for an architect. We selected Tim Rhodes because we liked his portfolio of completed projects and after meeting him felt we could trust him to do the job. Tim came up with a very clever design that incorporated all our requirements. We've been living in the house 14 months and are quite pleased. Tim's design gets many compliments from first time visitors. The only reason I didn't give Rhodes Architecture + Light five stars is cost estimation and control. Our construction cost ended up 40% above my desired target. To be fair this is common when building a house.”

“I am so pleased with the work the Refine Design architecture team has delivered for our home remodel. We bought a funky 1940s house that needs a ton of love and work. At first, it was quite overwhelming to not know the possibilities of the home and what could modernize it but also maintain some of the original factors that we love. We had a couple of ideas when we sat down with the team and they not only helped bring our vision to life, but offered different ideas and a point of view we had not thought of. I highly recommend this duo - they are incredibly easy to work with and passionate about what they do. Thank you both for your help with our home!”
