“I moved into a Hollywood Hills home after being stuck in the Valley since 1989. My house was built in the 1930’is and not much on the house was very practical and usable. Bathrooms to small. Kitchen in an odd shape. No central AC. Walls, ceiling windows and doors not insulated. So i decided to completely remodel and add an addition to my house. Before calling Josef, I tried a calling a couple other companies first, but they were non-responsive. So I called Josef Veis with Focus Craft. The first time I called him he picked up the phone and scheduled a meeting right away. When he came to my house he recommended that we get his Surveyor involved cause to determine the property line. Right after that his Architect was brought on board permits were filed and shortly after the project begun. I had to move out from my house for six months. Everything was removed to the studs except some original details that were here since the 30’is and gave the house a unique old Hollywood feel. We opened up walls moved the kitchen to merge it with the Living room area. The kitchen made my place the perfect place to entertain and cook for my friends and Family. We put the addition on the back of the house to make my Master Bathroom and Bedroom bigger and in the more quite section of the house. All I can say that I am living in my dream home and I am very thankful to Josef and his team for making it possible. I can recommend him to anybody that wants to build their dream home.”

The job was a complete rebuild of a garage into a living room with hardwood floor, fireplace, reclaimed wood accent wall,with separate storage area and eco friendly powder room, faux beams and accent lighting. We can't wait to do the rest of the house. We know we can rely on WC Builders for great workmanship, staying on budget and completing on deadline. It doesn't get better than this. “Berardinelli Custom Builders (the owner is named JR) was the contractor on my recent kitchen remodel, and I literally can not say enough wonderful things about them. I had been looking for the right contractor for a long time, and I experienced first hand all of the negative things people say about contractors (until I met JR). Everyone complains about how awful contractors are: the difficulty most of them have in following through, their failure to return telephone calls, their failure to involve the owner in any unexpected changes to the original plan. All of those problems came to light as I paraded many different contractors through my kitchen and discussed the project with them. Many of them didn't even bother to submit a bid, and those that did submitted bids that were incomplete and misleading so they could "keep things on the low end" in order to secure the job. All of that changed when JR came over to look at the project--he is a man of action and soon had the bid to me (by the promised date). It was more than I wanted to spend, so he spent considerable time going through the bid with me line by line to remove what we could to lower the bid. While his bid initially seemed more expensive, I quickly realized that it was not--his bid was simply honest, accurate, and included all possible expenses, which I really appreciated, I did not want there to be any surprises later after we were already knee-deep in the project--and there never were any. . The biggest complaint I hear over and over again from people who have used contractors is how flaky the contractors are--how they fail to return calls, fail to meet their completion dates, etc. You will never, ever have those complaints about JR. He made every effort to catch my telephone call, but if he was in the middle of something he always called me back very shortly or texted me. I never, ever, not once felt one second of frustration about how he was managing the project, communicating with me, keeping my husband and me informed, etc. The ONLY delays we suffered on this job were due to 2 subs I insisted on using who fouled up the timeline. 100% my fault, 0% JR's fault. In addition, there were SO MANY choices to make, so many decisions to have to make, and JR was always available to discuss those issues fully with me (even on a Sunday), so I could make good choices. But the best thing about JR is that his work is absolutely beautiful. He uses good subs (Pat, the cabinet maker JR works with is incredible!!!), and JR makes sure that every phase of the work is completed to his exacting standards. If not, it is redone. Kitchen remodels are fairly awful because the kitchen is the heart of the house, and suddenly it is completely unusable due to your decision to remodel. JR understands that, and went to great pains to move everything out to the garage so we had some sort of kitchen to use out in our garage (coffee makers, refrigerator and freezer, dining chairs and table, microwave etc). He did everything he could to minimize our suffering! My kitchen is breathtakingly beautiful-literally magazine-style quality. Gorgeous, elegant, and timeless. I will use JR again for any and all future projects I have-he is amazing and a world-class nice man to boot.”

“So Cal Builders and Design did a massive remodeling job on my condominium earlier this year in March. The condo was bought by me last year for a really great value, relative to living in L.A. heh, but the problem was it was fairly "worn" from use from the previous tenants who I gathered weren't particularly good neighbors. Regardless, with the great value that So Cal Builders gave me when I called them over to go over the estimate, made it all worth while. I had a limited budget, but they worked with what I had. Regardless of the limitations, they did a fantastic job with the kitchen by adding new cabinets, re-flooring and re-painting the kitchen walls. The living room and the hallway got a brand new coat of paint, and they removed the ugly and stained carpet to replace with laminate flooring. My girlfriend and I wanted them to make sure they paid extra attention to the bathroom and bedroom. So that was where the majority of the work went. Not to mention that the bathroom was a god awful mess that needed a new plumbing job! We replaced the bath tub that was taking so much space with a standing shower, which gave us tons more room, new vanity and lighting. Over all the job was fantastically done!”
