“PBC Design + Build recently finished building our dream home in Airlie @ Wrightsville Sound, and we couldn't be more impressed. The two things that stand out the most about this builder are their excellent communication and their attention to detail. From day one we had regular meetings and updates, starting with our first design meeting with Dave and his team, all the way through construction and working with Ryan, Kelsey, Chris and the rest of the team. They answered every question and kept us informed as things progressed. We have built several homes in the past, and as a realtor I have worked with numerous builders over the years, and I can honestly say this project has been a pleasure. The quality is unsurpassed, and I highly recommend PBC to anyone considering building.”

“I was looking for a waterfront lot to build a contemporary home on. After finding a suitable property which was barely within the budget reach, I discovered that it was significantly impacted by a wetland (aka- a swamp), which wasn’t properly disclosed in the marketing documents. Following weeks of mitigation research and frustration, I was about to forgo making an offer on the property. Days later, (with a small plat, some yellow onion skin and a red pencil), Michael convinced me that we could design and build a home around the wetland, which would also provide a privacy buffer. It was a great idea. Once we headed down this path, (and selected our builder-- Eric Davis/Bauen Group), it was further apparent that we had turned what appeared to be an impediment into an opportunity. In spite of this major land restriction, Michael and his team did a fantastic job designing and building a beautiful, unique home, which adapts perfectly within the site, while the wetland (and future bog garden) adds another dynamic water feature, and even more value. We love our new home!”

“Deciding on an architect can be confusing. However, after many conversations with Tilghman Herring, we decided that he was the right person for us. We chose wisely. Over the following 6 months or so, Tilghman designed the ideal home for our inter coastal waterway lot. During the design phase, he listened to what we wanted (low maintenance and energy efficiency) and incorporated our vision into the design. He also brought many innovations in the design that we had not considered. With Tilghman’s help, we interviewed 4 top quality builders before deciding on one. At that point, we essentially formed a team that worked on the construction of our dream home. All (the contractor, the architect, and The Hargroves) are happy with our home. If you’re thinking about building a high quality home and are looking for a outstanding architect, please take the time to talk to Tilghman Herring. You will be pleased. Alex & Nora Hargrove”
