Finding someone to fit in the categories I referenced above is rare not to mention all the previous individuals I explored never showed up or if they did it turned into a lackadaisical situation. I decided to hault all remolding. I was than introduced by a family member to David Dressman owner of SMS Construction . Despite the 2 hour drive to my home approximately 138 miles one way. He took that trip with no guarantee that I would accept his offer. His professionalism while doing measurement with great communications on my objectives along with his input, it became a win win situation. “The Best Decision I ever made was hiring this company.” David arrange a two week time frame that it would take to complete my project. I set him up in a hotel here in the city for two weeks. Despite the distance from his family, he never missed a beat construction of my home was no easy task while still being an awesome father husband by technology with family. He literally by himself tore out all my flooring cabinets, trim , drywall , two bathrooms nearly gutted my entire house. David literally worked from 8:30am until 10:00 pm if not later each day! Keep in mind this work also included going up and down stairs. His work ethics is compared to a four man job but he did it by himself. His talents, skills are impeccable. So …my advice is, if you are looking for an awesome construction company? Do yourself a favor and look no further than this company. It will be the best decision you made for your remodel or whatever your construction needs addressed. You won’t be disappointed. He transformed my home to a modern home, new hard wood flooring through my entire house, he tore out old carpet and flooring, new kitchen cabinets, sink, hood-range, 2- bathroom vanities, dry wall in my entire down stairs. fixed my deck, painted doors/trim . New trim/doors through my entries home. Light fixtures, railing, changed register vents and many odds and ends that I added on while he was here. It’s your one stop shop with peace of mind knowing he’s a trustworthy individual considering it’s your home. - PRICELESS- I will state if a mistake happens he takes accountability for it and informs you of it. “ instead of hiding it” It takes a-lot to impress myself,I’ll admit ! “My husband and I couldn't be happier with our kitchen remodel. Like any job, things occur along the way and Andy made sure everything was to our satisfaction. I was most impressed with the trim and tile work as it is such an important detail to any remodel. The quality of cabinets and granite to choose from was a step above the other bids we had and Siegel replaces baseboard trim when laying new floors which no other contractor included in the bid. I would definitely work with Siegel Design Center again.”

“Hired JD and his company to extend our deck, reinforce as needed and to install a glass panel in the middle of the deck railing to add some pop and allow a view of our pond. JD and his crew did an amazing job - they evaluated and reinforced the structure supporting deck (correcting many mistakes by the original builder); extended/rebuilt the deck itself (I know it is small but ALL the nails lines up straight); installed the deck rail and installed the reinforced, tempured glass section. They also stained the deck. They showed up on time every day on time, worked a full day, kept the work site clean and tidy - they also listened to my concerns about a nearby tree and wisteria - they took great care to keep both unharmed by the reconstruction. They offered many different options so I could get the featues I wanted - I think their prices were on target. I would hire them again in a heart beat.”

Joe and his crew finished a basement which also included adding a full bath. They upgraded a porch, kitchen and painted the entire interior. Joe is patient, a good listener and offers creative solutions to problem areas. He is knowledgeable about construction, pays attention to detail and is especially talented with finished carpentry work. The home sold the first month on the market and the buyer's agent said it was one of the best remodels he had seen.”

“Jeremy Hensley has been our contractor, advisor and the person we call for any problem, emergency or long-term need for repair, that arises in our home. Our first encounter with him three year ago is when he was the contractor for a major house project, a new driveway and terrace. His work and advice, willingness to answer each question or tackle unexpected problems was beyond our expectations and hopes. We worked with him on this project for over three months and other problems and projects that crept up on us at that time. Since then, we have called on him repeatedly and found that whatever the problem, he was right over to inspect and offer a variety of choices and options for fixing a problem. The people he has hired for us, if the job, a new roof and exterior trim painting of our home for instance, is beyond his ability do himself, have been the best in their field. There is no job too small or too big for Jeremy to handle. Also, and importantly, Jeremy is a thoughtful, considerable respectful and patient man, a pleasure to work. We have learned to rely totally on his advise, his expertize and his honesty. We trust his advise and respect his knowledge on each of the many problems, repairs, new projects we have hired him to do.”

“If you don’t want to read my full review, let me just tell you that we ultimately chose Dr. Energy Saver because they guaranteed to resolve our problems and we trusted that they would stand behind that guarantee. They did not disappoint and actually exceeded my already high expectations. When we first moved in almost three years ago, due to winter energy costs coming in on the average of $500 per month and well over $300 in the summer, along with some pesky temperature fluctuations from one level of our home to another, we began looking in to insulation providers to see what could be improved in our 35-year-old home. We met with at A LOT of insulation companies and it seemed each of them had a different idea of what needed to be done to accomplish this (read: what they wanted to sell us). They did not offer any sort of guarantee that we would achieve our goals and after not feeling particularly “wowed” by any of them, we put the idea on the back burner. Well after a very hot July this year and a very cold October, we decided to pull the trigger on either new windows or new insulation. This go-around, we took a lot more time to do more research on the front end and everything kept pointing to insulation being more important than replacing windows and one company – Dr. Energy Saver – kept coming up. So we decided to have Chris with DES come out. He was friendly, professional and beyond thorough (he was probably here 1.5 – 2 hours using all sorts of measurement tools). I appreciated the fact that he wasn’t pushy at all (unlike most of the others who I couldn’t get to leave) and said he would like to go back to his office, review his findings, and work up some different bids. Chris ultimately gave us 2 proposals. The first was just what was necessary to achieve our biggest concerns and the other included more helpful, but less critical, items such as vacuuming, a catwalk, etc. After a lot of discussion, we ended up going with something in between the two scenarios. The DES proposal was higher than the other companies that came out previously and when we mentioned that, Chris showed us where his price for simply blowing in insulation was roughly the same as theirs; that his cost was higher because of all the other efforts that he felt were necessary to achieve a noticeable improvement. And that brings me back to why we ultimately went with Dr. Energy Saver: THEY GUARANTEED OUR GOALS WOULD BE MET and if any of them weren’t resolved to our satisfaction, any additional remedies would be done at no cost to us and even further, if those didn’t fix the problem, he would give us our money back. During all our research, we never once came across another company’s information that even hinted they would guarantee that our perception of comfort in our problem areas would be achieved! The installation took 5 full days (Chris had estimated between 4-5 days) and at no time through the process did we ever doubt our decision! They were professional, gave us regular updates and cleaned up at the end of each day. A huge shout-out to Jason – Chris, whatever you’re paying that guy, it’s not enough! In the end, everything we wanted to achieve has been accomplished and Chris has followed-up with us 2-3 times to see how we’re feeling in our home. In fact, not only has our upstairs gone from the coldest part of our home to the warmest, we just got our first full Duke Energy bill and it was almost HALF of what I expected. The bill, less than $400 (for a 4800 sf home), was also the smallest winter energy bill we’ve ever received and it was for a very cold December. Chris and Jason clearly love what they do and we certainly enjoyed working with them. I can’t express how glad we are that we waited for the right company. Also, based on how things feel now, we don’t plan on getting any new windows and that will save us almost twice what we spent on insulation).
