“10/10 recommend Kelsey for your home projects ! As new home owners, we can’t thank Kelsey enough for taking us on as clients and customizing our property to become our forever home. We took advantage of the low interest rates but found it near impossible to decide what to do with a blank slate of high ceilings and open concept rooms that were empty and without character. Kelsey promptly responded and analyzed our space beyond our expectations to correct these issues of a new build. It’s truly amazing what a professional eye can create where we struggled. She was thorough with our consultation and vetted us on color schemes and our overall vibe that we would enjoy with each season. It was important to me that the colors were earth-toned without being overwhelming or bland and she balanced it out beautifully. There is nothing more frustrating (that we came across) than getting stuck on figuring out what our growing family would require but with Kelsey, she listened and gave us a phenomenal kitchen with storage space utilization we desperately needed. Our kitchen is now an optimal hosting feature . I had so many ideas to throw at her and she directed them in ways that made the space cohesive and surpassed all of my visions. “I had the pleasure of collaborating with designer Kara Silkwood on a major residential remodel and addition located in Los Gatos, California. She was a tremendous asset to our design team as our small addition grew to a whole-house remodel and addition--approximately 3,000 sq. ft. single story home. Together, we transformed a simple ranch style home into a custom detailed, beautifully decorated craftsman style home inside and out. I would highly recommend Interior Designer, Kara for your project.”

“We hired Hellen Hsieh, the owner of Design Loft Company, to design our 725 sq ft great room addition. We are so incredibly thrilled with the completed project, it is exactly what we had envisioned. Our existing house was a 1200 sq ft 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. The kitchen and living area was very modest. With two teenagers at home, we needed to expand and wanted more room to entertain. When we started the project we were uncertain if we should knock down walls and remodel the current floor plan and add a small addition or keep the footprint of the existing house exactly the same and add on one large great room. We decided to do the later, however, to get to this point, we went through several different renderings. Hellen provided us with many great options and helped us decide what would be the most economical and feasible plan. She was flexible, patient and was great about pointing out the pros and cons of each option. Her interactions with our architect , contractor and cabinet supplier went very smoothly which helped us to meet specific deadlines. Hellen was maticulous when it came to the kitchen cabinets and made sure everything was ordered properly and our custom stain came out exactly how we wanted. As a designer, she is very creative and knowledgeable. She understood the style and feel we were after. More importantly she was very conscious and respectful of our monetary constraints which helped us complete our entire project within budget. What impressed us most was her understanding of the build process: from the contractors needs, the city requirements, realistic costs and time estimates, appliance installation prerequisites and inspection requirements. We couldn't be more pleased with Design Loft and Hellen's professionalism.”

“We worked with Studio Ahead to select furnishing, drapery, art and light fixtures for our new home in Marin County. They came up with furniture floor plans and ways of using pieces that made our home have the designer feel we wanted, yet still felt very specific to who my husband and I are. On top of it we have worked with other interior designers before on previous homes and I have to say the process with Studio Ahead was very smooth. They are on top of purchasing, budgets and timelines which we appreciated after having some poor experiences in the past. Thank you Studio Ahead team! Looking forward to working together on the house in Tahoe.”

“How wonderful to have a decorator who does not provide cookie-cutter designs. She looked at our home, listened to who we are and what we wanted and provided us with choices. From our slate entry to our new floors to the built-ins in the family room to our granite in the kitchen and bathroom, it all ties together to provide a warm, comfortable home. We get so many compliments, I think we may have the design others want to copy.”
