“I have been working with Jennifer from The Old Painted Cottage since 2011. I had been a faithful blog reader (http://theoldpaintedcottage.com/) and admirer of her style for a long time before getting the courage to contact her to see if she would agree to a design consultation to help me revamp my living room. My husband and I had recently moved into a 1960's ranch - that still looked like it was from the 1960s! I was so frustrated with trying to "design" my house on a budget and getting nowhere – I desperately wanted and needed help. I kind of knew what I wanted to do and the styles I admired, but I had no idea whatsoever how to create it on a realistic budget in my own home. I hired Jennifer to teach me how to beautify my living room. And oh boy - I cannot say enough about how absolutely wonderful it was (and has been since then) to work with Jennifer! After sending her the dimensions of my living area and images of living rooms I loved (many of them here on Houzz), we scheduled and had a phone consultation and OH.MY.GOSH! Jennifer's energy, excitement, ability to translate what I wanted to the redesign of my space - and all within my budget - was incredible! One of the most amazing things about Jennifer is that she patiently taught me many interior design secrets that I never knew but have since been able to apply to my whole home (e.g., hanging drapes higher than the top of the window, displaying décor items in threes, adding pops of complementary color, etc.) Needless to say, it is 2014 and Jennifer has let me hire her to design almost every room in my house! Since 2011, I’ve had two babies and she helped me design both nurseries. Jennifer also helped me revamp my master bedroom, TV room, and the sunroom! Currently, we are doing a whole house consult on a little lake cabin my husband and I recently purchased. Overall, Jennifer is a consummate professional, her fees are ridiculously reasonable, and she is able to “get into a space” and transform it simply by looking at before photos. Jennifer is a gem! I could go on and on about Jennifer…(and I hope to meet her in person one day soon!)”

“Lynne has created a warm, exciting and functional showroom space to represent my brand and point of view. I was so happy with her thoroughness, communication skills and cheerful attitude. She took a potentially stressful situation and made it fun and was such a joy to work with! She listened to my needs and came up with unique ideas that I had not even considered! She made and created the light fixture in the attached picture!”

“Have worked with Susan Jay for many years and she has always been a pleasure to work with. She listens to what you want, provides insight into positive, and more importantly negatives, of those desires. She provides guidance and does not design spaces to suit her own tastes but rather mine. She also works with very skilled, efficient and knowledgeable subs which is incredibly important. She also knows where to find the best furnishings and accessories. Could not recommend any more highly. “Amy Elbaum was absolutely wonderful to work with! She listened to my ideas and helped me find the best way to express what I was looking for, while bringing in all kinds of wonderful ideas I never would have thought of. She was extremely professional and helpful and was always willing to answer all of my millions of questions. “Jennifer brings a sophisticated yet timeless flair to her design work. I love how she finds furniture pieces that you don't see anywhere else and fit the design esthetic so beautifully. “I hired Neela to turn my small dark family room into a room my family wanted to use. Now it's the most used room in the house- after the kitchen, of course! Neela helped transform the room into the perfect family room for MY family. She listened to what I wanted, used family-friendly fabrics as I requested, and placed artistic touches throughout. Now it's a useable space- not just a beautiful space I don't want to touch as many "designed" rooms can be. My husband, son and I love the room. Now we're working in my dining room. After working with another designer (whose finished product I love but whose process I had problems with), I realize how Neela's organized, responsive process was crucial for me as a working mom.”
