“I came to the US about a decade ago with nothing but a bag full of dreams and hopes. And one of those dreams was to work hard and one day realize the American dream of owning a home; all while keeping myself grounded by remembering where I came from. Perhaps, that spirit was the very foundation for the design of my condo: I wanted an extremely personalized design that must reflect who I am. Uniqueness and exclusivity were another important feature I wanted to be reflected in the design of my condo. If I had seen it done somewhere else, I simply didn’t want it. These were two of the biggest challenges I gave to Trevor; and needless to say, he delivered exceptionally. Trevor demonstrated that highly personalized design by making a careful selection of color palate, patterns, textures, furniture, décor, artwork, and lighting for each space in my condo. I wanted Trevor to design each room and space to have a personality of its own while assuring the overall condo comes together cohesively – it was a challenge that I knew only a few skilled designers like Trevor could do. It is an extremely important milestone in my life to not only be designing my starter home professionally, but designing it through TFD. “We built a custom home which requires a great team and a LOT of decisions. The end result is unbelievable and there is a clear MVP of the team: Betsy. We interviewed half a dozen designers. Many had a “my way or the highway” approach whereas Betsy took the time to ask about our decision process and how she can best work within that process. We live in an area with a lot of colonial style and needed to be confident our team (builder and designer) could meet our modern pallet. From start to finish we felt Betsy “got it” and was a consistent voice in a very long and sometime endless series of decisions. “The scope of our home remodel project included a total remodel (re-do) of our ground floor living area, including kitchen & breakfast area (re-purposed to a dining area), dining room (repurposed to a lounge, coffee, wet bar) , living room, master bathroom, his/her master closet, and upstairs bathroom. The scope included substantial layout/wall modifications (e.g. we completed reconfigured our kitchen to include an island), refinished wood floors, added new tile floors & plumbing & lighting fixtures (inc. showers) in the bathrooms, all new paint, all new cabinets & appliances, all new lighting, replaced an old fireplace with a modern fireplace, and added all new furnishings & floor coverings. We also choose to update our master bedroom (new paint, rug, bedding), and powder room bathroom (new wall paper, lighted mirror, plumbing fixtures) as added scope. Needless to say -- a major job. We worked with the Interiology staff for over an year to complete the design, make selections, plan the work, etc. We used a general contractor recommended by Interiology, and the general contractor employed several sub-contractors for plumbing, electrical, tiling, flooring, etc. It took about 7 months to complete about 98% of the work (as expected), and then another 1-2 months to finish the remaining 2% (not expected). All in all, our objectives were met and we are happy with the results. We would recommend Interiology to others.”
