“I originally contacted Karleen Shafer to help me with a design for my small backyard, which was used for parking, and completely overgrown with weeds and concrete debris from a torn down garage. Knowing nothing about landscaping or planting, Karleen provided me with two designs and photos of plantings that would work well for an inexperienced gardner. She was attentive to my requirements: a space to park two cars, a patio for entertaining, space for a gas grill, something aesthetically pleasing, and plantings that would be easy for me to maintain. I was so happy with the final design that I also had Karleen and her crew do the installation. This was a late fall installation, and her crew worked around rainy and cold weather to complete the project. She and her crew were respectful and trustworthy. The final layout was beautiful - a flagstone patio for entertaining, a gravel pathway to the tool shed, and a variety of tall grasses, bushes and plants integrated with the hardscaping. I received tons of compliments from family, friends, and neighbors! It was a total transformation and I have enjoyed entertaining and maintaining it for several years now. “Chad and his crew just recently completed a very large backyard landscape project complete with brick paver patio, fireplace, plants, shrubs and sod. It was a complete backyard overhaul. We were beyond pleased with his professionalism from start to finish. Chad had met with us on several different occasions to verify our needs and wants. He and his landscape architect designed a backyard landscape that met all of our expectations and functionality. As with any large project, unexpected alterations are bound to occur. Thankfully, only one of these "surprises" came up. Shortly after the fireplace retaining wall was complete, Chad found that the slope behind it was too great. In order to achieve an aesthetic and natural look, Chad came up with a few creative ideas in order to accommodate this drastic slope. He communicated well with us all of our options.
