Beginning with a very difficult and technical remodeling of our front entrance masonry and driveway that required extensive approvals from town boards and the historical commission. The new approach to the house created a beautiful and elegant approach to the house and was further enhanced with abundant plantings and lighting. We also worked with LandForm partners to remodel, or rather completely rebuild our second story deck, which came out beautifully. “Philippe Soule has worked with me for the past four years to design, install, expand and maintain the gardens around my home in Columbia County. While most of the jobs pictured on his web site are city or town gardens, my property is a country house of relatively recent construction. Some work had been done at the property by a different contractor, but it was not properly scaled to the house and was not satisfactory. Philippe listened extremely well to my own ideas, and came up with a new planting plan that was responsive to my parameters while introducing wonderful new elements that I never would have come up with. He was able to make use of almost all of the plant material that was already on-site (though it was moved around and significantly augmented). He has a great sense of proportion and composition, and he knows his plants. The job involved laying out extensive new beds, and Philippe and his team laid them out well and brought in significant soil to make sure that everything would be properly planted. The initial planting looked very good the first year, but really came into its own in year two. Plants were thoughtfully selected to ensure year-round interest. Since Philippe's initial planting, he has added to the gardens with significant new plantings (some new beds near the house, and more trees around the property) each year. Philippe and his team have done all of the garden maintenance, and they keep the place looking great. His team are conscientious and professional. I could not be happier with their work.”

“I had an excellent experience with Outdoor Design! Chris and his team are very dedicated, hard-working, and full of ideas on how to make the most of your backyard. I had gotten a free estimate from Chris when my irrigation company recommended him. I called him to talk about grading my yard before sprinklers were installed, but somehow, 2 months later, we had our backyard oasis completely finished, and had gained an outdoor living room, dining room and kitchen for a fraction of what an actual building addition would have been. Plus, mature trees for added privacy and landscaping Martha Stewart would be envious of! Chris and Dave took my ideas and budget and made what I had envisioned happen. Chris prices out the estimate a la carte; which means that you don't have to do everything right then; I could start the project and add the fireplace later, or the stonewall seating next year... This is an extremely professional organization and I would use them again. Estimates are done by the owner and his drawings will explain exactly what to anticipate. The laborers are on time, reliable and take a lot of pride in their work. The owner is available and will return calls if need be. I cannot see how things could have gone better for both of these large projects for my home.”

“Bryan Quinn of One Nature advised me on the planning and design of a wetland improvement project funded through the Natural Resources Conservation Service involving development of two ponds and restoration of native habitats within the surrounding areas comprising about 15 acres.. After evaluating site conditions and laying out an overall conceptual plan for habitat zones, nature trails and observation points, he prepared a detailed plan and specs for planting groves of trees, site maintenance and circulation for areas immediately surrounding the ponds as well as supervision of site work. The work went quickly, on schedule and Mr. Quinn was very professional, generous with time and paid attention to detail, and within budget.”

“Greg at VisionScape Design was recommended to me by my landscaper to help design a pool for my backyard, complete with landscaping, pool patio, etc. The project was somewhat challenging, because my backyard is sloped. Greg's design shows fencing, a walkway with steps from the driveway and deck to the pool, as well as steps and a walkway from a covered patio. There will also be a whirlpool on a lower deck, overlooking the pool. Greg's design was perfect, way above what I expected. But what really blew me away was the way he presented the plans. It included a construction plan, a beautiful planting schematic in color with all plants specified, numerous color "photos" showing what the final design will look like from many angles, as well as a video as if you were walking to the pool, with additional perspectives and even aerial views, and views at night. Greg went way above and beyond and did a beautiful job. I highly recommend Greg and VisionScape Design!”
