“Very professional team starting from the sales representative to the installers. We went from an almost non-usable space because of the heat from the sun to a large outdoor space. This pergola is built to last with hardly any maintenance. Would definitely recommend Dream Design Construction.”

“Working with Nehemiah Construction was an amazing experience. The owner was professional, active throughout the whole project and easy to communicate with. He was especially helpful in helping me choose a hardwood floor. The way he helped me understand what was best was an art form. He wasn’t pushy, just knowledgeable. I get so many complements on my hardwood floors to this day.”

“I have worked for several years with the owners and designers at Bowers Design Build. In the course of my work as an architectural photographer, I have met hundreds of homeowners who have worked with dozens of builders. As I work in their homes (photographing them for Bruce and Wilma) I constantly hear how easy they are to work with, how responsive they are to their clients' needs, and how completely satisfied they are with the whole experience of having the Bowers' firm do their project. I am always happy to photograph another award-winning Bowers project because quality work makes for quality photography, and that works for me.”

“Construction & remodeling is a big business. There are many small & large companies competing in the field. What stand out about SB was 1- their estimates were very close to the actual cost, 2- they did the job on time & 3- they made no excuses like lots of others I have seen because they didn’t need to. Professional staff with great service. I do recommend them for anybody looking to do work on their homes.”

“Between 2002 and 2003, Michael Ipsan/Horizon took a small 1,800 square foot circa 1942 farmhouse and integrated an addition that more than tripled the size of the house and resulted in a beautiful contemporary farmhouse, with upgrades to plumbing, electrical, windows and siding in the original part of the house. The integration was seamless and the project came in on-time and on-budget, with wonderful workmanship. While we had retained an architect for the overall design, Michael made many useful suggestions on tweaks to the design that significantly improved the outcome. The kitchen and pantry were recognized by HGTV in their American Home 2005 show, and in 2008 the house was recognized with a spot on the Historic Garden Week in Virginia tour, both testaments to the quality of the construction. We've had other friends who've had nightmare construction projects with other builders; our experience was exactly the opposite. Warranty issues were minor, and Horizon has stood behind the construction even to this day. In the years since it was completed we've been happy to have Michael walk other prospective clients through the house to see what was done, which speaks to our respect for his work and honesty. We can highly recommend Horizon to anyone considering a custom home builder.”

“Spectrum has done a full bathroom and basement renovation for us, in addition to several smaller projects including replacing all the exterior doors to the house and refinishing our front porch. The quality of the work is excellent. Communicating for the purpose of planning and providing feedback is easy due to their rapid response and liberal use of email and cell contact. They responded well to feedback regarding the work site when we had complaints about dust and so forth. The quality of their work holds up; our bathroom completed in 2008 continues to be in terrific condition. They were described by the person who referred them, an architect, very accurately. "They're not the cheapest, but they're the best." I highly recommend them.”

“Greg from Hammer Contractors was one of the best I've worked with. We have not actually started the work yet, but he gave great information and outlined the steps involved in getting it done. He was punctual, and always followed up with an email to check the status of my talks with the bank. He was always respectful and actually listened to us. We will definitely be working with him again.”

“Synergy's attention to detail has been outstanding throughout the planning phase of our renovation. Synergy's design team exceeded our expectations and as demolition has now begun we eagerly await the construction phase. We have every confidence that Synergy's team will once again wow us. Update: Our Kitchen/Great Room renovation is complete and Synergy's design and construction teams absolutely blew us away with their attention to detail and customer service. To be fair, it is not possible to completely convey our level of satisfaction in a short review. When is the last time you worked with a team of professionals whose standards for excellence exceed your own? Without fail, when we would raise a potential issue with Synergy we would find out they had already noticed it and created a plan to address it. Think about that for a moment, not push back, not an attempt to avoid extra work by saying there is no issue. Instead, reassurance that they are holding themselves to a standard that is higher than your own. Simply put, that never happens. Yet with Synergy it is just the way they work. “Character was an excellent company to work with for our kitchen and bathroom remodel project. Our project manager, Jake was very attentive to al our questions and was onsite frequently, checking on progress, managing their crew and subcontractors. We have renovated other area's of our home in the past and have never had a truly pleasurable experience like we did working with Character. For the first time ever, I can say that the remodeling process was fun! We highly recommend Character to anyone looking to do a kitchen or bathroom remodel, their quality of work, and process is second to none.”
