“Hurst has done two remodels for us. The first was in 2006 and included a complete kitchen remodel including granite countertops, wood floors and all upscale appliances. The wall between the kitchen and dining room was taken out and the dining room was made twice the original size with an addition that included changing the roof line, new beams, tray ceiling with lighted crown molding and bay window with bench seat including storage. The wood floors continued from the kitchen. A bedroom was added on the lower level under the dining room addition. We were and are very happy with the work and especially the workmanship. The attention to detail on the part of all the workman meant the finished dining room addition and kitchen are beautiful to look at and functional and fun to use. Our second project with Hurst was in 2008 when we updated all the bathrooms with beautiful granite, tile, new sinks, faucets and hardware. The shower was torn out completely and rebuilt as a walk-in shower which we love. Grab bars and a perfect shower floor for safety are wonderful and the plumber located the shower controls so that you don't have to step in to the shower to turn it on. Again, we appreciated the leader of the project and all the attention to detail. The young plumber was fantastic! Hurst has done several small outside jobs for us including pouring new entryway steps and adding railings. We are just ready to put our home on the market as we are moving West to be closer to all our grandchildren. We will miss all these wonderful improvements but know they will really add value to our home and make it desireable in the "sea of homes" on the market! We have recommended Hurst to our friends and recently saw a kitchen granite countertop job that our friends are very pleased with and it looks fantastic. “I've now had Smartland handle three jobs, all big, at my home. They've previously restored my floors after a flood and rebuilt my garage after a neighbor drove into the back of it. Now they've also replaced all my siding, over the entire house. It was a tricky job, not least because, after the siding was damaged by my neighbor's accident, I had to deal with two different insurance companies over the cost and coverage issues. Smartland did more than contract for the job--they handled all the negotiations with the two companies. My house looks great!”

“My wife and I had been planning our remodel project for 3 yrs. when we finally decided to go with it. In Oct. of 2010 I called Jack Dever and asked him to look into our renovation. Being very handy myself, I asked Jack to quote me a price for certain aspects of the project. He followed up with a visit from his designer and provided us with an estimate within a week. Being a major renovation, this was going to be a lengthy and costly project. By February of 2011, after some back and forth with the city on permits and drawings, we started our renovation. Jack and his crew were very professional, punctual, and skilled in their abilities. They performed the carpentry, electrical, windows, drywall and siding on the project.We attempted to try and live in the house during the project but after 1 month, we decided to move out until the kitchen and laundry room were usable. This sped the project up as more work was able to be completed. We moved back in by June 1st 2011 and we were so pleased with the work completed by Jack and his crew. Jack was more than helpful and professional and highly recommend his company when considering a project.”
