“We hired Caldwell & Johnson (C&J) for Dave's knowledge of green technology. Before the project began Dave showed us other houses he had built using some of this technology. In the last stages of design we decided to use photovoltaic technology. C&J installed solar shingles on the south facing roof that are producing more kilowatts than we are consuming. The photovoltaics coupled with other building techniques C&J uses to produce energy efficient homes (e.g. foam insulation) earned us a Home Energy Rating Certificate with a 5 stars plus rating. Dave followed through to get the house tested for its energy efficiency and we received certificates with the results. C&J was also top rate in terms of designing the interior details of the house. For example, board and batten was installed on the walls of the open staircase, craftsman style trim on all windows including some open transoms, and help when choosing finishes (e.g. tile). Dave's team is very knowledgable and professional!”

I own an older home and wanted a new kitchen (changed footprint), bathroom and flooring. Not to mention there was a crumbling chimney going through my living room that needed to be removed. Throughout the entire process, Rob kept me updated almost daily on what was happening, what the next steps were, realistic timing of completion, everything. I never had to call him to find out, he was always a step ahead and picked out some amazing design schemes for my home. “We are in the early stages of our remodel project for our Beachhouse. Our plan is to enlarge our kitchen and Ian has been tremendous in thinking through the practical side of our expansion. His idea to move the peninsula from one side of the room to the other was brilliant. He has been terrific at providing us with site plans so that we can go to conservation. He has also rendered a 3-D visual of what our final kitchen could look like.
