“We hired Caldwell & Johnson (C&J) for Dave's knowledge of green technology. Before the project began Dave showed us other houses he had built using some of this technology. In the last stages of design we decided to use photovoltaic technology. C&J installed solar shingles on the south facing roof that are producing more kilowatts than we are consuming. The photovoltaics coupled with other building techniques C&J uses to produce energy efficient homes (e.g. foam insulation) earned us a Home Energy Rating Certificate with a 5 stars plus rating. Dave followed through to get the house tested for its energy efficiency and we received certificates with the results. C&J was also top rate in terms of designing the interior details of the house. For example, board and batten was installed on the walls of the open staircase, craftsman style trim on all windows including some open transoms, and help when choosing finishes (e.g. tile). Dave's team is very knowledgable and professional!”

“We cannot imagine that any group could have done better in renovating our 1862-built home than Gary Streck CRM, Inc. They oversaw a top-to-bottom refitting of a home that was poorly lit, had knob-and-tube wiring, lacked central air conditioning, and had the original Victorian woodwork (which while beautiful showed the ravages of time). They had access to skilled artisans who brought care and imagination to the thousands of puzzles posed by making a house modern but preserving period detail. Bathrooms were remodeled, a state-of-the-art home theater was created, and a whole floor was reconstructed. Gary Streck CRM kept them on the job, on deadline, and within budget. Always professional and always setting the highest standards for any of the jobs performed. Thanks to them, we know that we live in an historic home but remain warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and well lit. The "Old World" level of craftmanship is evident in every room. It was quite an accomplishment for Gary Streck CRM and worthy of the Golden Prism Award for Best Historic Renovation in 2013.”

“Bob Kody is an excellent builder/designer/engineer and his wife, Corrine, adds her expertise in home decorating. She was very helpful with all the many important decisions that must be made in building a new home. We came to Bob with an architect-designed plan and he input it into his CAD program and came up with a number of improvements and enhancements. Our new home on a lake in Harvard is well-built and highly energy-efficient. The Kodys were great to work with during the 10 month building process and brought the project in on budget (except for some scope changes on our part) and on time. We highly recommend Envision Homes and are are happy to talk to anyone who is considering hiring them to build a new home or addition.”

“About a year and half ago I worked with Sean Cutting and Cutting Edge Homes to remodel an older home just outside of Boston. The Cutting Edge Team was extremely helpful in guiding me through the process as a first-time remodeler. At the onset of the project, Sean and his Project Managers were very hands-on working directly with me during the initial planning/design phases and clearly explaining the project steps/timeline. They were also extremely conscious of my desired budget range and timeline for the project.
Once the renovation started the onsite team was extremely polite, professional and engaging. When I would show up onsite they would take time to explain what they were working on and show the progress they had made. I also received lots of positive feedback from neighbors on my street on the professionalism of the onsite crew. Neighbors were very happy to see that the crew took time at the end of every day to fully clean up the work site.
The project met both the timeline and budget parameters that were set forth at the start of the project. The finished project is beautiful and I couldn't be happier with Cutting Edge Homes.
I would highly recommend CE Homes to anyone considering a home remodel.”

“Sage Builders were the general contractors for several projects in our home in particular for the large and complex retrofitting of a paneled library with coffered ceiling, purpose built sliding French doors, remodeled fireplace and special lighting. The project required the coordination of a variety of providers and contractors, including architects, carpenters, millwork specialists, decorators, lighting specialists, AV professionals, alarm system providers, painters, electricians, stone cutters, etc... Sage did a terrific job in guiding us throughout the process, they were reliable, available and present whenever needed, trustworthy, honest and meticulous in their follow through. They provided us with helpful and sensible advice borne of experience, were generous with their time and went out of their way to get the results we were seeking. They were always responsive, communicative, reasonable and a true pleasure to deal with. It was an expensive project but we are very pleased with the results as Sage was able to understand and interpret our desires extremely well. We would recommend them wholeheartedly and without reservations.”
