Horn & Co. (Previously JHLA)
Our clients on this project were inspired by their travels to Asia and wanted to mimic this aesthetic at their DC property. We designed a water feature that effectively masks adjacent traffic noise and maintains a small footprint.
Amber Freda Garden Design
We love the night and day transformation this garden took on when our client requested a zen garden for her backyard in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. It’s always fun to be asked to design a garden with so many charming creative elements. Our re-design included brown bamboo fencing to cover a very bright white vinyl fence, a fountain, loose grey stones, dark brown deck tiles, contemporary furnishings, a stone Japanese lantern statue, and white fiberglass planters. The plantings include cherry laurels, bamboo, a red weeping maple, moss, grasses, and variegated euonymus. Overhead globe lights add a cheerful nighttime touch. CHRISTIE DUSTMAN & COMPANY INC.
Parking and patio areas were competing for prominence which left our homeowner with no privacy from the street. This planting berm baffles the view of the parking area and the street which allows you to sink into greenery and grasses.

Fiberon Decking
An Asian-inspired courtyard walkway features Fiberon composite decking and is flanked with white stone gravel, walk-way lighting, a bamboo container garden, and bench seating, which was built from the same composite deck board material. The main walk-way features Fiberon's newest Symmetry Collection decking in 'Burnt Umber'. The border is Fiberon Horizon decking in 'Tudor Brown'. Visit www.fiberondecking.com
Ecoscape Environmental Design
The backyard of this brick home on University Hill in Boulder was in need of renovation to bring together awkward angles, window wells, and uneven surfaces. This tight space was not inviting and rarely used. The homeowners were inspired by turtle shells and desired bamboo plants for their Asian aesthetic. Clean lines and light creams have replaced the mix-mosh of haphazard stones and unset redstone pavers. Now the space feels intentionally designed and welcoming.
