Design In Motion
This Edwardian living room was lacking enthusiasm and vibrancy and needed to be brought back to life. A lick of paint can make all the difference!
We wanted to bring a rich, deep colour to this room to give it that cosy, warm feeling it was missing while still allowing this room to fit in with the period this home was built in. We also had to go with a colour that matched the light green and gold curtains that were already in the room.
The royal, warm green we chose looks beautiful and makes more of an impact when you walk in. We went for an ivory cream colour on the picture rails and moulding to emphasise the characteristics of this period home and finished the room off with a bright white on the ceiling and above the picture rail to brighten everything up.

My Bespoke Room
We created a dark blue panelled feature wall which creates cohesion through the room by linking it with the dark blue kitchen cabinets and it also helps to zone this space to give it its own identity, separate from the kitchen and dining spaces.
This also helps to hide the TV which is less obvious against a dark backdrop than a clean white wall.

At No 19
A traditional house in the heart of the New Forest. We were called in to give the drawing room a new look. The room was dominated by a huge red brick inglenook fireplace which continued around the end of it into the adjacent dining room. The rear window / door leading to the conservatory largely closed of the glorious views over the garden and paddock land which was a great pity. We suggested that the inglenook was clad in plasterboard and painted. Also that folding / sliding doors replaced the door/ window into the conservatory and in so doing bring the landscape indoors. Any new interior scheme had to be built around a beautiful but dominant Persian rug. New sofas upholstered in a neutral mixed linen and new curtains / scatter cushions were made using fabric in quieter tones from the rug. Remote controlled Pleated blinds were added for sun control.

Total remodelling of three rooms to create an elegant open plan kitchen / lounge / diner with the addition of folding / sliding doors and double sided wood burning stove. The brief was to create an eclectic look, to utilise some existing pieces and with a touch of vintage vibe. Photographs by Harbour View Photography
