Antique mantel gives the character to the space between the electric fireplace and TV. Glass "dewdrop" sconce lights add romanticism.

Whole-house remodel and addition. Our clients love gardening and bought this house for its unusually large yard and privacy. We added a large family room, kitchen and master suite which are all designed to feel surrounded by the garden, and to create good outdoor places, while not intruding too much into the garden.
Sightlines through the house are an important driver of the design. High clerestory windows of several types give a sense of connection to the sky as well, and integrate with vaulted ceilings of various shapes.
The house is a mix of styles and types of materials, full of color and whimsy. Saikley Architects worked closely with the clients to shape the space and to allow for the clients’ choices beautiful materials inside and outside. The house is heated by a radiant hydronic system.

This home was inspired by Balinese architecture to extent that the roof and floor tiles were imported from Indonesia, and the speical ceiling fans are made of rattan. The living room is a juxtaposition of contemporary and traditonal, and pieces were gathered and placed from existing furniture and accessories from the clients extensive travels, and newly specified pieces. Donna chose a limited palette of colour and added further interest and intrique by mixing sheen levels, and by layering pattern and texture.
The living room is full of large potted plants, and lush tropical greenery reminiscent of Bali can be seen from all the windows. A glimpse of the master bedroom draws your eye to the a separate annex accessed by a private corridor.

Influenced by classic Nordic design. Surprisingly flexible with furnishings. Amplify by continuing the clean modern aesthetic, or punctuate with statement pieces. With the Modin Collection, we have raised the bar on luxury vinyl plank. The result is a new standard in resilient flooring. Modin offers true embossed in register texture, a low sheen level, a rigid SPC core, an industry-leading wear layer, and so much more.

Another view of this spacious family room. With such a large space, the homeowners wanted two separate seating areas. One that faced the fireplace and TV and one that was a little farther away from the TV, becoming a makeshift home office part of the time. It is an inviting space with rich colors and a warm feel that is needed in the rainy pacific northwest.
