Minosa | Design Life BetterDesign is a direct response to architecture and the home owner. It sshould take on all of the challenges, lifes functionality issues to create a space that is highly functional and incredibly beautiful.
The curved ceiling was born out of the three structural beams that could not be moved; these beams sat at 2090mm from the finished floor and really dominated the room.
Downlights would have just made the room feel smaller, it was imperative to us to try and increase the ceiling height, to raise the roof so to speak!

The kitchen is lit by recessed lighting. The countertops are granite which are highly patterned. The kitchen backsplash is black subway tile, which contrasts with the bright walls and stainless steel appliances.
Hardin Builders, Inc.Our Client in North Barrington, IL wanted a full kitchen design build, which included expanding the kitchen into the adjacent sun room. The renovated space is absolutely beautiful and everything they dreamed it could be.

Grain matched natural walnut and matte nanotech touch-to-open white and grey cabinets provide a natural color palette that allows the interior of this home to blend beautifully with the prairie and pastures seen through the large commercial windows on both sides of this kitchen & living great room. Blue Hill Cabinet & WoodworkClean and simple kitchen with grain matched cabinets. The clients wanted a modern farmhouse look with all the modern functioning extras. We began with the layout which includes panels on the d.w. and fridge, a full trash pull out and swing out in the blind corner. We then went on to design the curved walnut legs on the island, and the custom lay out of the plate rack. The floating shelves with bar for hooks for mugs filled out the function part of the design.
Next we found a type of wood that was warm and brown but not too yellow or red. The matching grain of the rift sawn white oak was the choice. The legs on the island are oak which match the stools. The countertops and subway tile and hardware rounded out the choices.

A lovely small one story bungalow in the arts and craft style was the original house.
An addition of an entire second story and a portion to the back of the house to accommodate a growing family, for a 4 bedroom 3 bath new house family room and music room.
The owners a young couple from central and South America, are movie producers
The addition was a challenging one since we had to preserve the existing kitchen from a previous remodel and the old and beautiful original 1901 living room.
The stair case was inserted in one of the former bedrooms to access the new second floor.
The beam structure shown in the stair case and the master bedroom are indeed the structure of the roof exposed for more drama and higher ceilings.
The interiors where a collaboration with the owner who had a good idea of what she wanted.
