It was all built and complete in 2 weeks much to our client’s delight, and as with all of our buildings, is highly insulated for year-round use.

The garden office by the pond was a completely bespoke design, conceived to meet our clients every need. To create his perfect office space, we needed to know more about how he worked, what he needed to store or have close to hand, and what he did when taking a well-earned break. As we discovered his workflow and passions, it became clear to us as we found the correct proportions and floor plan for the client that we needed to design and build bespoke shelving and a stunning one-off desk to establish his perfect layout.

Wooden Garage Dorset. Mr W was looking for a double timber garage with a metal roof and fully retractable automated up and over doors so this is what we did….. Our wooden garages are constructed using 100mm x 38mm timber framing clad with tanalith BS8417 shiplap, bitumen paper and 4mm plywood lining. This standard garage, has 300mm overhangs to front and rear with guttering and down pipes. The eaves height on this double garage with standard double doors is 2.3m plus the single engineering brick course, this allows the doors to miss the guttering if barn doors are installed.. The ridge height varies depending on the width of the garage but sits generally around 3.5 metres. We can manufacture the ridge height to be no higher than 2.5m if required to sit within the planning regulations. This wooden garage has anthracite grey fully retractable automated up and over garage doors and a matching meta roof with a large garage window to the right hand elevation. The standard covering for the roof is felt tiles or a metal roof with underfelt. Tapco Slate is a popular additional option which will last for 50 years! One concern for a number of customers is the damp proofing. When the sections are bolted through the single course of bricks into the concrete base the timber clad runs 50mm down the outside of the brick. In addition to this the vapour barrier also runs down the same distance ensuring no rain water can get into the building. One further measure is a DPC is attached to the bottom rail of the section which sits on the top of the brick and stops any moisture in the brick rising up into the timbers. THE PROJECT: Working strictly within the guidelines set out for Grade I listed properties, Cue & Co of London’s refurbishment of this London home included the complete strip-out, refurbishment and underpinning of the building, along with significant internal structural works. All original floorboards, paneling and woodwork had to be retained and restored. The refurbishment also included a rear extension (pictured) and fit-out of two garden pavilions for guest and staff accommodations. HOME OFFICE: The home office is part of a large rear extension. The homeowner favours design classics, so Mattioli Giancarlo's Nesso table lamp for Artemide sits on the table, looking as good today as it did when it was first designed in 1967. www.cueandco.com
