The singular and beautiful Dragon's Breath and Lotus Flower Hand-Knotted rug struck just the right balance for a boy or girl, the palette played well with the vibrant colors of the toys and books lining the nursery, and they could see it nicely fitting in other settings.

When my clients came to see me and announced their wonderful news that they were pregnant, but did not want to know the sex of the baby, I immediately decided to have the room in greys and yellows, we could always add accessories once the baby was born. This gorgeous, serene nursery for this very much Loved new baby would need to have all the necessary amenities and easily be converted into a regular bedroom. My Client had an image of elephants as the father grew up with bedtime stories of Babar.
The challenged was the size of the room only 94 sq. feet. And it would have to be transformed into a regular bedroom once the child was older. I was able to find high quality , beautiful classic furniture that also serves as double duty.
Once the child would be old enough the crib can transform into a queen bed, and the removable part of the changing table becomes a 6 drawer dresser. The paintable wall paper color can be changed as well as all accessories.
I believe in good quality furniture that can be passed down or converted. Yes it is more expensive but in the long run, classic pieces such as these can last a life time.
Created by the concept of elephant accessories and soft pastel colors. Soft texture wallpaper and loads of storage used in an elegant way, This nursery will stand the test of time from 1 month to 18 years .
One month before the birth of the child my clients found out they were getting a baby boy. He was born October 03, measuring 45cm and weighing 6.5 pounds. Congratulations guys and welcome to our world little Matteo

This remodeled nursery/playroom is part of an entire lower level remodel project to create a grandchildren's retreat space, complete with this nursery/playroom, bathroom with separate toilet room and shower, and separate guest bedroom. This shot is of the newly remodeled nursery. This is a loft play area that was built over a large rock, there is an open viewing window at the back left corner where the kids can look down at the rock below! The cabinets/drawers at the front were salvaged from a home on the east coast and re-used here. There is a closet in the left corner.

The clients hoped to achieve a calm feel in this nursery, as well as a look that could grow along with their son. The choice of clean lines and fresh colors provide the crisp, updated feel, while the choice of depicting woodland animals in a realistic way (as opposed to a "cartoonish" approach) means that the little inhabitant of this room can appreciate the design as his tastes become more sophisticated.

This was my daughter's nursery at our home in Kelowna. We wanted the space to be super girly, yet approachable. We chose pink because it is a calming- something I wanted in a nursery. We combined it with the navy striped feature wall to add interest. The wall was done using painters tape, and lots of measuring.
We managed to stick to our limited budget by using vintage items such as the rocking chair and gold pillow. We spray painted an existing curtain rod gold to match the pillow and other accessories. The canvas art and fur throw was from Home Sense, and the wooden map was hand painted as a gift from a class mate. It is my absolute favourite thing in the room!
