Masterworks Window Fashions & Design, LLCThis narrow hallway was given new carpeting, new wallpaper, fresh paint on the trim, and many of the works of art were relocated or given new archival mats and glass, if not completely reframed. The light fixture is also new, and a larger scale more suitable for the tall ceilings, with more light than the old fixture. The diagonal pattern of the carpet makes the narrow hallway feel wider, while the striped wallcovering emphasizes the generous 11' ceiling height. Inspired InteriorsThis long hallway joining the kitchen and bedrooms with a recessed alcove is painted in the calm shade of Resene 1/4 strength "Crisp Apple". The framed vintage etchings are hung in an offset pattern and complemented by the vintage hook panrel which I made.
Designing JOI, LLCThe clients, and older quiet couple, wanted a Modern Eclectic look that incorporate their bold modern, yet transitional style. The home redesign features a neutral palette with luscious custom window treatments, vibrant colors and flowers in wall art, and multiple custom H Studio sculptures, coffee table, and side tables. Also highlighted are elegant and modern crystal light fixtures, mirrors, and abstract art.
Undercover ArchitectA contemporary extension to an existing Queenslander, this clerestory allowed northern light into the south-facing extension. A void over the living area below meant this sunlight could reach internal areas.
Open circulation areas create a much greater sense of space overall.
PS: As a child, I lived a home which had a hallway zone around the stairs. My brother and I used to rig our toys up on ropes, and hang them over the balustrade, and do 'shows' for our parents below. This client has 3 young children, and I loved this idea of bringing the opportunity for 'play' and 'display' (for books) into their home.

Elixir Interior DesignMy client's guest annexe is connected to their home via a secret door in their utility room.... down a long passage leading to their guest accommodation. The theme is Alice in Wonderland and I included a custom wood shelf (made with local oak) and a 'mad hatter's tea party' pendant light.
