elg designThis zero lot line side area was dirt with 2 overgrown, unhealthy fruit trees before I designed the area to be both eye-pleasing and functional. The desert climate demands special consideration, so artificial turf was used as a 'doggy deposit' area, while the pavers lead from the front part of the house to the rear yard with pool, spa & BBQ, with lake and golf course views beyond.
A combination of small and larger rocks require no water & create a riverbed effect & contrast against the green succulents.
A bench offers quiet respite and view to the lake beyond.
J. Montgomery Designs, Inc.This client started with their home remodel and then hired us to create the exterior as an extension of the interior living space. The backyard was sloped and did not provide much flat area. We built a completely private inner courtyard with an over-sized entry door, tile patio, and a colorful custom water feature to create an intimate gathering space. The backyard redesign included a small pool with spa addition (pictured here), fireplace, shade structures and built in wall fountain.

HWH Home and GardenOne of my favs for the year! My client wanted options and the discussions we had, created a vision that transformed the patio into a "living space". I loved the materials and small touches (fence and garbage enclosure, Gate etc...) we were able to incorporate.
JRP Design & RemodelEvery day is a vacation in this Thousand Oaks Mediterranean-style outdoor living paradise. This transitional space is anchored by a serene pool framed by flagstone and elegant landscaping. The outdoor living space emphasizes the natural beauty of the surrounding area while offering all the advantages and comfort of indoor amenities, including stainless-steel appliances, custom beverage fridge, and a wood-burning fireplace. The dark stain and raised panel detail of the cabinets pair perfectly with the El Dorado stone pulled throughout this design; and the airy combination of chandeliers and natural lighting produce a charming, relaxed environment.

Generous custom tile work, a new pergola and gates, and iron lights and railings all elevate the design and extend the graciousness of the home’s interior into the new outdoor spaces. Ornamental Gardens by LisaA new paver entry with red wood "bridge" to go over the dry river bed that captures rain water. Differing sizes of cobble provide interest for the different areas of the landscape. A low stucco wall divides the front yard into a public and private space.
