Designed for the young professional or retiring "Boomers" - the power of connectivity drives the design of the Blue Rock model with smart technology paired with open living spaces to elevate the sense of living "smart". The floor plan is a tidy one that packs all the punch of smart design and functionality. Modern, clean lines and elements grounded in iron hues, warm woods, and natural light is why the Blue Rock is everything it needs to be and nothing more.

This small living room faces a few challenges.
One was the offset fireplace; two was the lack of seating and storage, and last but not least, the oversized television.
Our solution minimizes the impact of a black TV by adding dark modern moulding. We have created a focal point for the fireplace by installing a floor to ceiling vintage brick. These elements perfectly balanced the walnut bookshelf with integrated engineered stone seating bench below the TV for overflow guest and discrete storage.

This mid-century mountain modern home was originally designed in the early 1950s. The house has ample windows that provide dramatic views of the adjacent lake and surrounding woods. The current owners wanted to only enhance the home subtly, not alter its original character. The majority of exterior and interior materials were preserved, while the plan was updated with an enhanced kitchen and master suite. Added daylight to the kitchen was provided by the installation of a new operable skylight. New large format porcelain tile and walnut cabinets in the master suite provided a counterpoint to the primarily painted interior with brick floors.

Painted brick brings new life to the original craftsman fireplace. An edited mantle-scape in neutrals and metallics highlights the wood trim details and soft wall color. Clean line furnishings with a nod to midcentury modern keeps the space looking tight and fresh.

A house that got a major face lift, entirely re-insulated and virtually every surface (except the brick on the first place and at the entry) was improved.

This rare 1950’s glass-fronted townhouse on Manhattan’s Upper East Side underwent a modern renovation to create plentiful space for a family. An additional floor was added to the two-story building, extending the façade vertically while respecting the vocabulary of the original structure. A large, open living area on the first floor leads through to a kitchen overlooking the rear garden. Cantilevered stairs lead to the master bedroom and two children’s rooms on the second floor and continue to a media room and offices above. A large skylight floods the atrium with daylight, illuminating the main level through translucent glass-block floors.

Highly edited and livable, this Dallas mid-century residence is both bright and airy. The layered neutrals are brightened with carefully placed pops of color, creating a simultaneously welcoming and relaxing space. The home is a perfect spot for both entertaining large groups and enjoying family time -- exactly what the clients were looking for.
Fireclay Tile
Paying homage to her Pasadena home's midcentury modern roots, Mandy Moore and interior designer Sarah Sherman Samuel resurfaced the fireplace with a sustainable white glazed thin Brick surround from Fireclay Tile and added a terrazzo floating bench to make it the focal point of the family room.
