The dining and kitchen area lend itself to causal dining in style. The lake view is seen through the glass upper cabinets and the bay window, which makes up the walls of the kitchen. Cabinets are custom made of teak and a hidden pantry and dish buffet is the anchor on the opposite side of the dining room. The art work centered between the teak cabinet is a focal point for the dinner guests. Opposite the kitchen, an over scale mixed media art panel adorns the rose colored accent wall. A series of three pendant lights illuminate the dining table. The dining chairs are clad in soft yellow ochre leather, and the table top is of Wenge wood. Photo by Roger Turk.
Niels Larsen Rugs
An enormous 6x4 metre handmade wool Persian rug from NW Iran. A village rug with plenty of weight and extremely practical for a dining room it completes the antique furniture and wall colours as if made for them.

The dining area was a small nook open to the kitchen and living room areas. Therefore, we decided to incorporate visually weightless pieces and used a striking glass top Mid-Century table combined with acrylic Eiffel chairs. The industrial metal artwork (our client's original piece) adds a bit of edge and compliments the dining selections beautifully. We always try to incorporate art, decor and/or furnishings into the design, whenever possible.

Made from pear wood, a storage unit takes advantage of barn posts for support. Minimal in design, it appears to float effortlessly above the floor, and provides ample room for storing extra plates and displaying artwork.

We Got Lites
During the mid-eighteenth century, the Georgian style became immensely popular, not only in England, but also in Colonial America. The "Colonial" home was influenced by the Georgian style, characterized by a sense of proportion, balance, and carefully thought out details. Furniture and objects of the time were of a larger scale, yet with a lighter feeling than earlier periods. This lighter feeling transmitted grace, elegance, and prominence, and allowed details to become more of the focal point, rather than the principle elements of the structure. The Georgian Court Collection reflects those earlier influences with a well-balanced proportions, attractive brass finished details, and amber glass with a marbleized finish and decorative ring. Designed by Charles Kelton.
