In the evenings, imagine reclining on the second-floor balcony with a glass of wine in-hand and simply taking in the sunset and surrounding countryside.
Cal Green RemodelingTan aHigh end Hexagon gazebo and kitchen in Morgan Hill California. This custom outdoor kitchen/gazebo was custom designed to be functional and durable while matching the existing house to the T. It features a stylish hexagon shape accented with regal concrete pillars that match the main dwelling perfectly. This gazebo was built to last with its modern composite tile roof and streamline camouflage gutter system that directs the rain into an underground drainage system. Custom designed to be a functional living space it features built-in refrigerator, built-in stainless-steel BBQ, Granite Countertops, Stainless outdoor sink, pullout trash and recycling, storage area with stainless steel doors, canned lights, XL Granite Island, vaulted wood plank ceiling, electric ceiling mounted heaters for chili evenings, a beautiful gold chandelier centerpiece, and stamped concrete flooring. This outdoor kitchen/gazebo was custom designed and built by Cal Green Remodeling
nancekivell home planning & designEnhancing a home’s exterior curb appeal doesn’t need to be a daunting task. With some simple design refinements and creative use of materials we transformed this tired 1950’s style colonial with second floor overhang into a classic east coast inspired gem. Design enhancements include the following:
• Replaced damaged vinyl siding with new LP SmartSide, lap siding and trim
• Added additional layers of trim board to give windows and trim additional dimension
• Applied a multi-layered banding treatment to the base of the second-floor overhang to create better balance and separation between the two levels of the house
• Extended the lower-level window boxes for visual interest and mass
• Refined the entry porch by replacing the round columns with square appropriately scaled columns and trim detailing, removed the arched ceiling and increased the ceiling height to create a more expansive feel
• Painted the exterior brick façade in the same exterior white to connect architectural components. A soft blue-green was used to accent the front entry and shutters
• Carriage style doors replaced bland windowless aluminum doors
• Larger scale lantern style lighting was used throughout the exterior
Collaborative Interior DesignThe outdoor dining room leads off the indoor kitchen and dining space. A built in grill area was a must have for the client. The table comfortably seats 8 with plenty of circulation space for everyone to move around with ease. A fun, contemporary tile was used around the grill area to add some visual texture to the space.
Pacific Outdoor LivingOutdoor seating area and retaining wall with prefabricated fire feature and native California plants. This design also includes a custom outdoor kitchen with a freestanding pergola.
CS Thomas ConstructionBevelo copper gas lanterns, herringbone brick floor, and "Haint blue" tongue and groove ceiling.
Georgia Front PorchThis timber column porch replaced a small portico. It features a 7.5' x 24' premium quality pressure treated porch floor. Porch beam wraps, fascia, trim are all cedar. A shed-style, standing seam metal roof is featured in a burnished slate color. The porch also includes a ceiling fan and recessed lighting.
Landwell Design + Build Co.An unsafe entry and desire for more outdoor living space motivated the homeowners of this Mediterranean style ocean view home to hire Landwell to complete a front and backyard design and renovation. A new Azek composite deck with access steps and cable railing replaced an uneven tile patio in the front courtyard, the driveway was updated, and in the backyard a new powder-coated steel pergola with louvered slats was built to cover a new bbq island, outdoor dining and lounge area, and new concrete slabs were poured leading to a cozy deck space with a gas fire pit and seating. Raised vegetable beds, site appropriate planting, low-voltage lighting and Palomino gravel finished off the outdoor spaces of this beautiful Shell Beach home.
