Stone GardenLocal homeowners love what can be achieved with river rocks as there are so many different sizes and colors. They are super versatile and practical, and look good, too. Here a River Jax pathway is bordered by NC Midnight Blue wallstone and Cane Creek stones.
YardDocFor this home in Austin, TX, we created a completely new landscape look for the owners. This is a Xeriscape landscape. Xeriscape means employing a type of drought-resistant landscaping. The river rocks help to keep the moisture in the ground. They are teamed with drought-resistant plants. The river rock pathway is gently curved to provide a sense of a meandering river. The owner’s cat still isn’t quite sure if he approves of the new layout.
Glow & Grow LLCOur client challenged us with creating a garden for their full-shade narrow patio. The garden needed to survive Phoenix's summer heat while they are gone the entire season.
Naturescapes Landscape Specialists, LtdAt this couple’s house, we worked in the front and rear. Out front, we enlarged the bedded area to embrace the front walkway and to be more proportionate with the large covered porch. Then we brought in conditioned bio-soil to improve the existing site. Next, we transplanted some larger crowded Boxwoods throughout and added shrubs, perennials and bulbs to the bedded area to make a more welcoming feel to the front of the house and giving it year-round interest.
In the rear, we enlarged the beds around the patio, created pathways to the lawn and made a step way/walkway to the patio from the driveway. For the latter, we used slab flagstone steppers and river rock to check the flow of water coming from uphill during heavy rains. We added water-loving shrubs and perennials to create an inviting feel to the rear area.
Big Rock LandscapingThis bridge over the front yard stream adds charm to the front entryway. Adding natural river rock around the banks of the bridge and river gives it the space a natural, rustic vibe.

Native Edge LandscapeThe primary goals for this project included completing the landscape left unfinished around the existing pool, replacing as much lawn as possible with native plants to attract pollinators and birds, and reimagining the front yard hillside.
